IIRC the 2UZ was a joint design effort of Toyota and Yamaha? @ToyotaMatt ?
I heard the 1uz had some Yamaha development but wasn't sure. Anyway sorry for the thread derail.

Matt, you should just unbolt that whole rear axle, bring it inside and fully break it down off the truck. It's almost January in New England dude. ;)

ill PM you some tech , its very intriguing

just so every body knows this simple fact :

TOYOTA owns Yamaha outright

they actually started this off shoot company to do one core task , engineer and design there internal combustion engines for them

the F inline 6 engine was cloned from a lease agreement between TOYOTA in the late 1950's hence FJ25 Siamese F & the first gen F1.5

YAMAHA was founded or simply was a off shoot TOYOTA WING who did the actual lease agreed cloning process...

Kinda like the Kaminoans from star wars who made and cloned the REPUBLIC ARMY CLONE forces in the star wars movies

YAMAHA still is the main engineering designer of all TOYOTA engines today as we speak ......

NO DIFFERENT ...

below are some photos or it does not exist images , ill dig up more and post them here as well ....

What components got replaced in the rebuilt differential (besides bearings and seals)?
My cruiser has the OEM LSD and a some point would like to rebuild it.

New gears, bearings, pinion flange, and a solid pinion spacer.

Nothing was done to the LSD. It was a very low mileage unit. If your OEM unit is due for rebuild I would recommend replacing with an Auburn (the new Nitro Torsen unit of you have a FF) if you are wanting to stick with an LSD

i like dawning my insulated OEM old work-wear and poached former dealership parts and service uniforms anything , it's so so very refreshing to be outside sniffing fresh air and doing all things under natural sunlight for extended periods of time fully un-plugged , or at least partially un-plugged , as i shoot my T-TEN style tutorial FSM step by step shorts , and also show it like it is un-filtered too ....

if you happen to ever decide to operate a online entity of any sort , you will find out there is much behind the interior desk-top 3 super screen monitors time , and little of the above ,......

in the days before my girl the GHOST arrived on the scene in late July this past summer , Mrs. ToyotaMatt had started to poke phun at me using words like " your turning pale like FOX Mulder from the X-FILES " i googled this , as i did watch that kool drama when it was still on the air , to find out FOX Mulder was a cave dweller computer nerd type that spent all his free time , ( when not doing FBI field work ) , hunkered down lurking on the dark-web UFO Social Media forums , where he was a actually a active Moderator .......

i don't like it when Mrs. ToyotaMatt is right about something i did not realize .. :meh:

GHOST is now and always will be a Healthy form of Addition for me ....🤣

I am working on the same. And learned the difference in axle sizes. I learned that the oil seal has a difference between 35mm and 36mm.

is this a installer in reverse to ALF ?

i have been pondering the best way to install the factory green-loch-tite sealer applied studs in a efficient way ?

i only concluded using 2 simple hex nuts that are locked face to face and that is not a desirable method , its a huge time consuming step by steps ?

if you ever wanted to know Alf why your my TOP Shelf Platinum Level Skunk-Works under-FST-cover Field Operative ....

now u know ......🤣

Application of needed pre-cleaning process site protection process

I have a set of these, they're fantastic. You can buy the 8mm individually from Koken USA is you don't want the set.

studs are 10mm x 1.25 use 14mm hex nuts .....fyi

can u post the link Alf to the above stand alone one , i don't see a need to have any others i a kit form , because , all my

OEM studs i keep in my HORDE are HEXLOBULAR male TORX feature equipped except a 10mm x 1.25 size spec.

not sure if a sharp male torx-feature end diff stud is a good LETHEAL slice your skull wide open fast idea on not , when

working under a Land Cruiser on your back or up on a lift in the standing position ? ....

thanks
