How i approached Rebuilding Restoring & Refreshing the HJ61 NON-USA Full Floating rear axel in my

10/88 FJ62LG-PNEK w/ a MTM conversion ....

i will be documenting the Step by Steps outlined in the various OEM FSM's and applying any Tecqniques i need to to produce both a properly functioning end product as well as a NUTS and BOLTS all cosmetic restoration & re-fresh

- ALL Needed Japan. Spec. OEM parts maker power train and chassis parts for this necessary project job scope minus the ones from @cruisermatt , sourced via @cruiseroutfit / Cruiser Teq | Land Cruiser Specialists Powered by Cruiser Outfitters - https://cruiserteq.com/ and why i choose them for this unique overall job scope of events .....

- factory TOYOTA HJ61 NON-USA factory Limited Slip option Differential hand assembled with all new parts to my Spec's by Cruiser matt's OFF road Power Train & Chassis Specialty shop in Winter Part Florida will also be installed by the book FSM style and is a primary focus point of this TECH thread also .....

@cruisermatt

- the Rear propeller shaft will also get repaired by a 3rd party Drive Shaft Specialty Shop / A-1 Drive Shaft in Baltimore Maryland

- i have never come into contact or repaired in any way a TOYOTA Full Floating AXLE , i have been planning this since shortly after late July 2022 when i purchased My Girl the GHOST

- i want to both learn hands on the TECH on this process and incorporate my unique approach to how i will do just that ...

- stay tuned for some good solid FULL FLOATING AXLE TEq TECH ...... :)

Removal of the carrier assy itself required a bit of thinking outside the TEq box

But SAFTEY is job one so we lowered it on 6x6 Timbers

And decided to count to 3 and both use Bryant screw drivers and in tandem pop it off and into the Cradle for SATIN I had whipped up to catch the mess and capture the beast without crushing our skulls

Like Rick and Darrel do on the walking dead …

we used the floor jack then to push up break the seal so all the gear oil remaining after draining the DIFF could escape into SATINS cradle and not rill down my underarms

It worked well …

Your ingenuity is TEq level. All you need is a paint marker. Scribble TEq on those Timbers and that bubble wrap and it’s all OEM SST.

What's a Yamaha version???

Not only are your trucks rad… so is your music selection. You’ve always got the best songs playing, man! I’m sure your shop is a blast!
