Moving right along, I removed the seats and the carpet this afternoon, I'm pleased to say there is no rust in the floor and I am up by $3.45 in change, there wasn't even much dirt throughout the car

So I got the wife's vacuum cleaner out and cleaned 90% of the crap out and then the vacuum died:bang: boy did I cop it

So with the carpet out and just the bare metal to look at, I decided to put the front seat back in and also bolt the passenger bucket seat in for the first time, I've still got to weld one bracket in place because I had the 3/4 bench seat in there before, also got to weld the centre console brackets in place, I haven't got a centre console yet, so I'm on the lookout for one.

Also looks like I've scored a set of electric mirrors from early landcruiser spares on Facebook for $105, silver in colour to match my wheels :steer:

Greetings Spudman,

It's Coming Along Real Nice Mate.
Are You Putting Down Sound Deadening Before Laying The Carpet?
Great Re-Build.

Cheers Michael

Hey Bouncy

Yes mate, I purchased 10 sq metres of the 10mm stuff, hopefully should enough to do the floor and the doors

looks great I wish I could find a diesel here in the us , they are far and few between keep it up its lookin great!

Thanks for the support mate, it took 5 years to find this particular diesel

Since i cant afford a diesel, id just settle for some cool non US parts... like those badass fender flares. those are awesome!

And Spudman, excellent work so far! Rust repair is such a pita... i just leave it alone and hope it goes away on its own :bang:

Hey thanks for the support Bambi, I just hate pulling bits off and finding more rust spots, hopefully I've got them all now.

Didn't do anything to the car today, I've been trying to source a problem with my 200 petrol running too lean, a real pita.

But I did pickup my intercooler today, it's off a 4.2 turbo diesel GU patrol in pristine condition, I picked it up for $20 and for another $20 he threw in the bonnet scoop, bargain I reckon ;)

Hey mate
Yep exactly the one, I've actually emailed the seller already and just waiting for a price on shipping

Not a lot happening ATM still stuffing around with 200 series :bang:

What I did try and do today was try and wire up keyless entry to my central locking, I'm pretty sure I followed the diagram but it's not working, ah well keep plugging, it'll come

Greetings Spudman,

Mate, Whats Up With The 200? Which Takes Important Time Away From The 60,
Ha Ha Ha.

Cheers Michael

Hey spudman,

Nice centerconsole you scored?? Did you get it?
It's a JDM RHD console with 24 volt seat heater switches. If you not gonna use the switches i would be verry happy to take them.Have been looking for those a while now.Let me know what you want for it if....

Greetings Sved

While I was cutting and grinding my new wheels turned up, secondhand but new to me. $250 for 4 a bargain I reckon, they are 16X 7

I think they'll look real nice with the red :steer:

Hi Spud, nice wheels. What are they? how do they compare to sunraysia? What tyres are you planning to put on them ?

I am looking for 16" rims as well for more option of tyres.

Cheers,

Hi Spud,
What Sound Deadening material you have got? Is it easy to install? I am thinking to put that in as well. 60s are too noisy.

Cheers,

Hey bouncy, the fuel is vaporising because of the heat up here, been try to replicate it for the last couple of days, back to the 60 tomorrow :bounce:

Sved

Haven't got it yet, still waiting for a postage quote to see if it's viable, so if I do get it I'll let you know

Hey Nex

I haven't tried out the wheels yet, I have a set of 285 Cooper ST's to go on them they are 16 X 7 inch rims.

Mate with the sound deadening I haven't put it in yet, but type this number 251263917315 in www.eBay.com.au the seller gives a really explanation of how it works

I don't understand wheels. No idea what 16x7 or x8 means. Is the 285 the size in 285 75 r16 tyres? I am looking at buying 16" wheels to fit 33" tires too, but not sure 16x8 will fit or not. Cheers,

Hey Nex
Yep the tyres are 285 x 75 x r16 which will fit on. 16 x 7 or 16 x 8 rim, 33 inch tyres are the same as 285
