No problem, I'll find a use for it somewhere

Spudman, just caught up on your thread from page 18. Great work, can't wait to get to the point of driving mine. I'm gettig close on it, got the SOA done and the C&T done also. Getting the axles powder coated and then finishing up the body work and a good paint job. Looking forward to what you do next.

Cheers, Ryan

Ok here it is, gauge build No. 3

I've found that working with wood is too hard :bang:

So I made up a bracket that comes out from the dash and the 2X gauges bolt onto that at basically a 45 degree angle like this

So I mounted the gauge holders

Screwed the bracket into the dash facia

Nice work on the gauges. When I get around to putting mine in, I think I'll go with something like these.

Yeah I thought about a pillar pod, but at the end of the day I like to be different:D

 Spudman

My carling switches turned up today for my bunny burners :pig: And the isolator switch for my dual batteries, so straight into it:zilla:, the modern 60's have bugger all dash space for switches:bang: Luckily I've got the centre console and another 4 holes to fill up:D

Yeah no problems, even with my hand on the gear stick, still miss it by quite a bit

Today I ordered a new headlight wiring harness, I've been driving a bit at night lately and that yellow tinge is definitely below average lighting:bang:

So hopefully this new kit will do the trick:p

 Spudman

Nice one mate, did similar to mine. Can actually see with the lights now haha

Thanks mate, was is it as easy to fit as they say

Built the side boards today, cut out of ply and then carpeted

I'm not going to cut out a hole for the jack, I mount that in the hidden lockers on the side.

Btw, I just noticed that the carpet I purchased to cover the sides and drawers is a perfect match for the factory carpet gotta be happy with that

 Spudman

Also today I mounted the frame into the rear cargo area,:) I used the original catches that are bolted to the floor, so no drilling holes in the floor required.

Sorry about the quality of my photos, bloody Iphone :bang:

Got all the wiring sorted today for my gauges, but then I realised I couldn't fit them up because first I need to do the new exhaust so I can put the sensor in for the exhaust temp and then I remembered I can't put the boost gauge on until I've finished the intercooler:bang:. Ah well gives me inspiration to get cracking on those things.

I did manage to also install the manual boost gauge, but I'm not prepared to increase the boost until I've installed the boost gauge, so everything interacts with everything else, so need to get my butt in gear.:deadhorse:

Since I've owned my truck I've struggled with the sensitive throttle issue, it's been talked about on here for a while, both in the 60's section and diesel section, and it's all to do with a couple of springs which look like this

1c0fbe1b7b3ef51f6f8e4f55db103b9f_zpsa6515413.jpg

As I had written in earlier posts I had upgraded the suspension as I thought (hoped) that that would sort it, to no avail, anyway today after much deliberation in the diesel section I went out and checked my springs and low and behold I only have the inner spring:bang:

So I went and got a second spring off my other 12HT and hey presto drives like a new truck, no more jerking :D

My new headlight wiring harness arrived today, so I wired that up and after making a minor adjustment with the 3 external pins, but that was because of the way my lights are wired up

So turned the lights on and what a difference, the normal beam and the high beam are now white and there is no yellow glow like before:clap::D

So if anyone else is interested here's the link and you can also contact the supplier Mick, a really nice bloke.

My throttle is a big sensitive too. Silly question but where in the bay is the above part? Obviously in the throttle line somewhere! Is the above pic how it should be, or a before pic?

Thanks mate!

Hi Ivan, i finally got my knuckle, seals, bearing, brakes, tie rod shocks and steering dampner done but run into a problem with the effin compresser belt! I bought em of ebay last year so probably cant get a refund, this one has the 'toothed' type and is too long, whereas the original is solid on the underside.

Anyway, i have a favour to ask ya, next time you are at the graveyard can you check to see if you can find me a radiator overlow bottle and mounting bracket for a 60 series or other, cruiser, a 45 series one would be perfect but unlikely. It is for my fj45 it has never had one and now has some coolant issues that a don't have time or money to get to, only minor, but i waste coolant everytime i top up with that anoying 90 degree filler pipe, what is the purpose of that thing anyway??

Hey Strick, the picture shows how it should be, easiest way to see it is look down at the injector pump and then look towards the firewall, you should see that thingy that looks like a diaphragm and you should see the spring, the inside one is harder to see, but feel under there and you should feel it.
