They seem to go pretty cheap on eBay, I wonder how you'd go getting the bluetooth function working.

Don't know mate, it's only there as a cheap fix until I find a decent unit with GPS and reverse camera:)

It looks so legit though!

Yes that's true, but if you actually look closely you can see that the stereo actually sits back further than the dash, I reckon if I used a couple of thick washers between the 4 bolts that hold it in place it would sit further forward and look more spec.:D

Finally got my Turbo Timer working correctly

So there are 2 sets of immobiliser wires that allow immobilisation to 2 different starting points, I.e. Ignition and starter motor. It says make sure you wire immobilisation set 2 to the ignition if you want to run the Turbo Timer.

Now I'll swear black and blue that's what I did :bang::bang:

Anyway after pointless hours of buggerising around I decided to change immobilisation wires 1 and immobilisation wires 2 around and bugger me it worked.

So now it runs for 1 minute and then shuts off :bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Hi,

I see you had some fun with your turbo timer install:D,but you got it working now:cheers:
If you still feel that your steering feels a little foggy try tightening the steering link joint .It's a spring with 2 seats that can be adjusted with a BIG screwdriver. You will have it on the right side as you're RHD .You can give it a little extra tension by putting a washer between the screw-plug and the seat.

So now that the spotties are gone, what will be the replacement?I always liked the big Hella 1503 bull pencil beam, but they are too big for a TJM bar.And not cheap either.
What do you aussies think about those?Truckies like them for sure.

Greetings

Hey Sved

Yep works a breeze mate.

With the steering, I think I've got it sorted now, there is a lit bit of play, but that's normal for these trucks.

Nah still got my red spotties, the ones I swapped for shocks was another set that I got on eBay, I'm a eBay junkie:grinpimp:

I haven't heard of those Hella's, put up a pic, as I'm always looking.

 Spudman

Today was a good day

Finally got my central locking to work with my remote:bounce::bounce2::bounce:

Took me all day though, so all the other jobs I had planned have now a taken a step backwards :bang:

 Spudman

When I fitted my wheels I forgot I had the hub centres for them.

So while searching for something else in the shed I came across them, with the benefit of wheel spacers I was actually able to enclose them completely on the back.

Just finishes them off so nicely:D

2c worth of headlight advice.
#1 - hella rallye 4000
#2 - lightforce genesis or 240 xgt

Both quite pricey but worth every cent. Hopefully this doesn't cause a light wanker argument.
Personally I'm running roo lights and an led bar but I don't do a lot of long trips on s***ty roads and I don't think I spent more than $220 on the set up.

Wow, yep a bit expensive, I think I'll just stick with my $41 specials, also I have a led light bar that I'm going to fit across the top of the windscreen, I used to have it on my 200 series and that turned night into day, Twice:grinpimp:

Nice work on your build spud, although i reckon you'll be attending to your roof in the future. Had to do mine a handfull of times once the rust starts weeping out under the bog.

When are you gonna get those wheels dirty?:D

You're probably right Casper, you can't stop rust you can only control it, although I did sand it right back and sprayed it with rust preventative and treatment. :D

It is soooo close to getting dirty, I did actually drive down a off road track the other day, and this is what inspired me to order 3 degree castor correction wedges, it was a little bit scary, so hopefully the wedges will be fitted this week:clap::steer:

Btw I can't saying the same as Crick, I don't have that awesome roar yet, I desperately need a new exhaust :bang: but the 12HT is awesome:grinpimp:

My 3 degree castor wedges turned up today, so I thought I got a couple of spare hours.

Firstly I put one in the wrong way :bang: always happens, anyway fitted both correctly in the end and took it for a drive, awesome, drives straight, very happy.

Here's a couple of oics of my wedges installed

Ah very nice. It's surprising how many people put them in backwards. Mine were when I bought it.

Thanks mate.

It's amazing how the mind works, I looked at it a few times and then put it in backwards :bang: just wouldn't register:D

hi Spud
so the fat side of the wedge have to be on the front like on your pics?
What makes the differnts with the wedges in steering?

Hey Paul
It's simple geometry mate. :D

When we lift our Toyota's it causes the diff to turn off centre if you like, basically it turns towards the back, which throws out all the geometry and causes a very rough wobbly ride, so the wedges bring the diff back to centre so to speak.

Hope that helps

 Spudman

thx Spud
I will give it a try because my 61 drives :steer: a bit nervous since i installed the OME 2,5 lift.
