You're going to like those a lot.

Ok, so working on the interior some more now...about to pull the dash so that I can replace the radio....question on the dash bezel surround. Mine's cracked through in two place on the top (all the way through)....and then has the start of cracks on the bottom corners. I know these are NLA. what would the best type of glue or cement could I use to fix these? Going to try and hope someone has one up for sale too I guess if y'all tell me once these break they're toast.

J ( @reevesci ), any chance you have these on your short-term to-do list? metal panel would be pretty nice....but figure you'd need a laser cutter to get this to come out right.

Kev, They are at my sheetmetal designers office now. Haven't heard back from him yet to see if they are doable yet or not. I hope to hear back SOON. If so.. they will be available in stainless steel and hopefully the toggle button holes and complete custom panel configuration as well.

In the meantime.. epoxy glue the bezel back together, sand and paint

Ok, hoping @beno or @reevesci can tell me what I'm doing wrong here. Dash doesn't want to seem to come off...here's what I've removed:

1. 7 x screws that hold the glove box compartment in place, removed it completely including the door.
2. 5 x screws that hold the instrument cluster in place (speedo etc), slid it out of the way
3. 2 x screws, one at each end of the dash edge (man, i just see those two back screws on each side being a pain to get back in)
4. 4 x screws on the upper edge of the climate control panel
5. 4 x 10mm nuts, the first I accessed through the hole where the glove box was (again the one closer to the door was a total PITA due to the vent tubing The second two nuts from the similar spot on the other side, I only loosened not completely removed as I'd read you didn't need to take them out.

after all of this the dash doesn't want to come out...don't want to pull on it too hard....and idea on what i missed...really thought I had them all. I'm glad my HOA isn't allowed to fine for swearing...it would have been a pricey afternoon.

I have the same cracked bezel. I have thought over how I would fix it. And this is how. Like @reevesci said glue/epoxy. And use little slivers/pieces of old carbon arrow shafts to reinforce.

Of course I decided to just find an unbroken bezel and now that is what I am going to do. Good luck!

Looks like you have them all... I had to pull firmly and wiggle the dash to get the side defrost and A/C vent tubes disconnected.. There are four up against the windshield.. one is high and left of the glove box... It was a PITA for me to get to that bolt.

J

Thanks, I'll try shaking it around some...feels like its stuck in the middle somehow, just don't want to break it. That corner bolt in the glove box....man i was swearing up a storm....hoping that this will actually go back together easier for me. (yeah right)

Might have to employ my 12 yr girl to get her arm up in there....small hands will probably make it easier.

Just read thru your thread...great job with your Cruiser! You've transformed it into a top notch rig.:clap::clap:

Would like to do something similiar with the sound proofing in mine. Where did you source the material?

Thanks

Thank you Ed, really appreciate it. It's been a labor of love. Just fun to learn something new - and these rigs, well as you know they become a part of you.

For the sound deadening I ordered from a bunch of different places...mainly because I hadn't heard back from Don at Sound Deadener Showdown. (he was offline/backed up for a bit...but now he's very quick to respond). I'd highly recommend ordering through him for two main reasons.
1. His products are top notch. He sent me some samples after...when I'd ordered some of the velcro strips. His CCF is a higher quality vs. the stuff I got.
2. You'll end up saving $ by getting everything from him.
3. Having the tiles pre-cut will save you time and make it easier to work with.

Great site to read through.

You'll only need CLD tiles, CCF, and MLV for your rig. Unless you're removing your headliner you you won't need any of the 3M...also, the panels on the doors don't allow for the CCF/MLV so I only did the sound tiles (at least I don't see how it would- only did the sound deadening tiles on the doors) - i did put the CCF and MLV behind the new quarter panels.

If I can be of any other help just PM me.

Cheers

I have a spare dash bezel. I work at the same place and can bring it in if you want to check it out.

You have a crack free bezel and work at AMZN?!? when and where do u want to meet. Let me know what you're thinking on price as well.
