Remember: there are hundreds are parts trucks out there and thousands of copies of a part you break that's in good used condition. Not saying you should rip parts out with reckless abandon but don't be afraid to remove a part because you're scared you'll break it.

I used a regular glue remover.... Acetone based IIRC.

IMO, remove and clean everything you can while everything is torn apart.

You will thank yourself later.

:)

Wasn't Acetone a band that toured with The Verve in the 90s... HA!!!:rimshot:

Acetone is good for cleaning hoses, etc. I've never had any issues with it.

Removing the evaporator is no big deal, it is the recovering of the refrigerant that is the pain...
If you are doing that anyways then go for it! You will be able to clean out all the dust and stuff that has accumulated on the evaporator core over the years, may get better airflow after.
I stuffed some bug screen up under where the blower fan intake is as the factory intake screen has pretty large holes, also zip tied some bug screen to the blower housing when you have it on recirc so that you don't suck in any large hairs or anything into the evaporator once it is cleaned.

OK, WTH am I missing. I removed the three bolts/screws that for the blower motor...but I can't get it to come off...stuck on the top screw......there's got to be a simple thing to do in order to remove this, what is it.

Hit the motherfxxxer with a rubber mallet, pardon my French.

Ha, I was actually hoping that was the answer. Thanks Onur! Assuming the same method for the rest of th parts under there (within reason of course).

any updates on this rig? I love the color! Any new shots outside or on the trail?

wow....haven't updated this in a long time. Here the blower motor (NOS) and housing all cleaned up with new foam.

Also had done the front end a couple of months ago. New calipers, rotors, Asian hubs, brake lines. Took me way too long. Hard lines were seized up on the passenger side, had to cut them out.
