Rock,

Each kit contains top and bottom as well as the needed accesories. The only thing I think you may need to add would be some spray adhesive (if desired/needed) and hog rings and pliers (reinstall covers).

Per the link you can choose betwen different kits. From review of the available kits, for the most part what changes is the size of the elements.

Karl,
I do not know how these compare to the Slee kits. I am leaning toward these becuase while doing some research into the kits, these seem to have decent components and the company offers a variety of products at reasonable prices. One of the major factors for me is that if I find a kit I like, I am looking at purchasing 6 - 8 kits so I would really like to keep the money going out as low as possible.

I'd be interested in one. I'd also be interested in some new cow skin because the driver's seat looks like it has 200k miles on it. Oh wait....

Maybe 2 kits though, cause my girlfriend is a lot colder than I am. And I hate driving with the heater on.

I'd be interested in a pair of the Innovative Heat II with the standard switch.

Let us know what the final deal is, thanks for setting it up.

I'm in for two if the price is $65/ea or better.

The drivers seat is in sad shape, but the passenger is Ok...hmm...

I'm in for two of the above most mentioned. I, too, would like to use OEM switches.

I will also be replacing all of my leather with stuff from AATLAS1X.

I will also be ordering a new OEM driver's side seat cushion.

I wonder if I should heat the second row?

THANKS

I've just checked with Toyota and it looks like the switches are still available for the DS and PS sides.:grinpimp:

Alright, now it's your turn to contact someone to find out about a group discount on those. ;)

I've ordered two and am planning on ordering a couple more for someone today.

I'll post pics of them upon their arrival.

I can do one for $49US, including air shipping.

If I can get say, 10 switches, then I could discount $2/switch, and $5/switch if more than 20 switches are ordered.

What say ye?

Can you post up a picture of the switches?

I'd probably be interested in a set or two.. have had mine installed for 3 years and the DS crapped out on me. Not this company, from autowarm.com. But damn, if that don't look like the exact same web site. what killed them was leaving them on all day probably 8-10 separate occations (wired straight to battery )

I think I paid $120/seat before (there's probably a thread about it somewhere) and it was worth the $40/year so I'm in for another run. Post up the details when you get them, thanks.

Nakman,

If you currently have heated seats and the elements are "crapped out" I believe I read somewhere on the site (maybe FAQ) about calling and ordering just the elements. If this is a route you would like to go I can check when the guy gets back with me in a day or two and see what the price would be for them.

Update: I did get a quick e-mail clarifying two things, to get the discount each order will need a minimum of two kits (I asked if this can be waived --- therefore that is why he will contact me in a day or two) and for our brother to the North the kits you order will depart from Canada so there are no added fees (he is still checking on the whole free shipping in Canada or not). He is also gathering the tiered pricing numbers and will get them to me when he e-mails me next.

This guy seems to be working for us I am now going to stop harping on him and allow him the time he asked before I start trying to widdle the price anymore.

thanks for your work! I cant wait to get two! for the wife and I!

I am in for two heaters but I can't see doubling the price to get factory switches. So out on the switches.

Ditto on the OEM switches, IMHO the supplied ones look fine. Just might need to get creative when mounting them... :hillbilly:

OK, if these kits cost $65 per seat, plus a sweet switch from Mot, then i'm in for at a least one if not two.

I have these in my driver's seat.

I installed these in my 80 last year, and they work great! I bought them off of their eBay ad, and they were shipped fast and came with everything I needed. There were only two problems I had. I waited to order them when it was already cold here, so getting the leather back on was a chore and I didn't do too good of a job lining up one of the original wire supports for the seat cover and it worked through the seat stitching. The wire issue was probably related to the cold at the time of the install and not taking the time needed. I was able to push the wire back through the stitching, so it's not that big of a deal. I also didn't use hog ring pliers which would have been easier too. I used the provided switch and mounted it in the blank spot by the rear heater control. HTH.

MOT's stuff is always great (at least, I'm always jealous of his direct access to the Toyota parts bin).

I think the standard switch is pretty sweet, but I've been trying to get the OEM heated seats "look" since I bought the cruiser in '96, so I'll pony up for the OEM switches that fit into the coin-holder slots for the US models.

I'm also game for four kits (why not warm up the kiddies in the back to shut them up on cold days, eh?).

But I'd really like to know how these compare to those available from Slee (always great stuff) or the kit that AATLAS offered in the past. The Slee kit looks pretty similiar, but comes with a rotary-adjust knob (much like the more expensive knob from these guys). So maybe Slee's is the same stuff but with the nicier control - which would make his a great price if you wanted the nicer control.

But we better get crackin' b/c the cold is coming!

Buy the heaters from the web site listed, I can't touch that price and my vender says the same.

AATLAS: I was wondering more about quality. I've been riding on the same seats for 11 years. I'm definately ready for an upgrade, but I'd like to not have to remove the leather again for another 11 years. It would suck if the heaters went out after just a couple of years as someone else mentioned - even though the price per year might be low, the hassle factor is pretty big for me.

I'd rather just change the leather, foam, and add heat all at once and be done with it for another decade. That is the only reason I was wondering about your kits and those that Slee sells. You both seem to have quality stuff.

Thanks for the honesty though regarding price - mud is great!
