I have been thinking about finish, let’s say, coating on the body.

At one point I was set on a Raptor liner or similar tinted with the stock color code.

Now, not so much. Certainly would be the most durable but also will look the worst in my opinion.

Next in my head was good quality paint in the stock color but a soso spray job since I plan to wrap it.

I had a few days of thinking about getting crazy with paint and lots of clear coat with much less wrap. For example, I had an 80 years ago we sprayed “v8 Toyota Land Cruiser” down the side body line accent and lots of clear on top. Cruiser was dark gun metal with the accent/stencil white, I am a big fan of this kind of thing and think it looks great.

So at the moment not 100% sure which way I am going besides not bed liner. Heavily leaning towards a silver color of some sort, stock color is a beige/silver. I don’t want to go darker in color than a mid dark gun metal. Whether or not I do the paint fancy or not is to be seen as well as how much wrapping vs stencil type work.

Toyota 1B2 Antique Sage Pearl would look amazing. It’s always misidentified as “gun metal” or “pewter”.

We are done with filler and are now block sanding in prep for sealer and paint. I am going to push through on it and get it in paint before it gets pushed aside again.

Door jams, the big weld will get covered up with a bead of seam sealer.

Sage Land Cruiser, had an accident with front right damage. Repaired, and titled.

The hood, right fender and valance are all black.

Thinking of using monstaliner in white, desert, sand, etc. on top and a different color on the bottom.

Questions that arise are:

1. The top color should come down to what height?
2. What color should top and bottom be?

I've seen pics over the years but would love it if some would post to a single thread what their two tone looks like. That would help others out in the future too.

My old v8 swapped FJ80, I liked the side accent work we did a lot.

A few OEM accent decals I have. Top is HDJ80/81, middle is BJ74 or HJ60 (13bt or 12ht, I don’t recall but 1980’s), and bottom is HDJ79 1HDFTE.

I Like this one the most.

Anyways, probably going to get crazy with some stencils and some sweet “retro” accents and integrating these decals well.

I like the Di-Turbo on the hood! But Turbo on the door looks most Toyota correct.

You may like this one from 1993 FZJ80 G specs. Rear part but it will make the doors more toyota stock.
