I am currently running a H41 and a toy box but want to get an H55.. need the adapter if anyone has one . Marlin Crawler won’t make any more…..

Good luck @CRZR45 . Been looking for years. Not sure why they stopped making them.

because they didn't sell that many, had a ton of problems, and not that many people are really wheeling Cruisers any more, plus now there are good options for transfer case gearing that didn't exist back then.

If you absolutely have to have a crawl box NWF has their Blackbox ready to go :meh:

I have a toy box already and it’s a game changer in a wagon in the rocks! I want 5th gear for the trip to the trail😜 I have not heard 100% positive on the black box( heats up on road) which will kill it fast. I called Marlin and they won’t share the cad so I can have one made… and they won’t make anymore…

Not sure what engine you have or if you can even do this setup behind it. But i looked for the same thing for a couple years and no luck. so I ended up doing a sm465 gm trans with low first gear, with it in high range and in first its still lower then being in 4 low normally. and I also put a dana 18 transfer case behind it with even lower low range ratio, then what a toyota is. I can let clutch out and crawl up hills and rock gardens without giving it any gas. But freeway with 33 inch tires and 4.10 gears its 2000 rpm at 65 mph with a 1F engine

I'm thinking all of you who are really wanting a toybox setup haven't had to deal with a broken one yet.

That sounds too good to be true.

33" tires rotates 630 times per mile. Multiple that by 4.11 for the diff it comes to 2589.3 RPM. That's is at 60 MPH. Multiple that by 1.0833 which is roughly 65 MPH and you get just over 2800 RPM. J30/H41/H42 transmissions are one to one in the in top gear. Same with the transfer cases high range Toyota used. Most my FJ40 driving has been in my 68 FJ40 with a F145. It loves 1,100 RPM. Okay up to 1,800 RPM. Cruises at 2,200 RPM but starts to feel like I'm pushing for long periods. But higher really try to stay away from other than short periods like passing.

Do not believe either the SM465 or the Dana 18 have any type of OD? Stock gearing the Dana 18 low range is 2.46:1. Not that much lower than the transfer case in the 1970 FJ40. Biggest gain is in the first gear of the SM465. If you can do 65 MPH @2,000 RPM with that set is great. Just not understanding how.

I have 2f h42 toy box split case and 4.56 gears and 37” tires. Speedo is spot on and at 65 I’m at 2800 roughly and that’s confirming with gps.. I don’t know how 2k rpm at 65 is possible without 5th gear and other gear mods.

I show your set up if everything is one to one transmission to transfer case 65 MPH would be 2765.5 RPM. That's real close to 2,800 RPM. True tire sizes vary a little. Plus tire wear factors in. 65 MPH at 2,000 RPM with 4.11:1 diff and 33" tires wound be nice setup on a F engine. Just don't see how without an OD.

Advcanced adapters bought the patent, for the warn overdrive for the dana 18, I almost did it but havent yet. You can split gears with it.

This doesnt answer how you are at 2000 rpm at 65 mph? Or are you numbers just hypothetical?
