I just received a brand new OEM valve body, still sealed in the bag, I dont know if sell it for like 800-900 and go for a new transmission for like 3.4k or 3.7k or install this vb and give it a try. (I dont have a problem to put the transmission by myself)

I was testing my solenoids, since the new valve body dont come with solenoids, and all are in the spec in terms of ohm and they activated when I put 12v. Tomorrow or later I will go and grab the orings for the accumulators, the filter and gasket at the toyota dealership.
What else should I grab?
If you can get them, change the three round flat seals and the three tube seals from the VB to the case. I couldn’t find part numbers. (See B3, B1, B2 in the picture below and the actual parts in the other picture - I do not know what the small metal rings are for). Order a Sonnax with O rings for the C1 accumulator replacement (that is NOT the C1 in the picture below). Replace the ball valve spring (Toyota part # 90501-03005).

Sounds like a tough call. If you have the time, space and skills, if it were me, I'd try the new valve bodies before dropping a few grand on another trans.

those parts:
3 round flat seals: 35145-60020
3 tube seals: 35159-60010

I dont know which oring for the C1 accumulator, because mine C1 came without orings, or do you mean in sonax they sell an oring for that as an upgrade? and C1 its listed as "PISTON B-1 ACCUMULATOR"

I will order the orings for the C2, C3 AND B3 ACCUMULATOR
those metal rings are the crushing washer for the oil pan drain and check bolds/plug
I will do an order at the toyota dealership right now:
9030126011 x2 C3 orings
9030123010 B3 oring
9030134011 B3 oring
9030120008 x2 C2 orings
9050103005 spring check ball
9030131014 oring filter
3533060060 filter
3516860010 gasket
3514560020 x3 flat seal
3515960010 x3 tube seal
3517830010 x2 crushing washer

I will try that, If not I will put on sale the VB and go directly with the trans, basically is $3,840 pick up at the dealership.

Nice find on those part numbers. I looked everywhere for days and couldn’t find them. Paid way more for an entire kit. But it looks like I’ll likely use the kit anyway. Yes, the Sonnax is an upgraded piston with an o ring

https://partsouq.com and put your VIN, You can find EVERYTHING there. normally shipped from United Arab Emirates, but you can use it to find part numbers, right now I'm not buying there because the tariff

If you can find a local dealer to match price you shouldn’t have to deal with shipping… or that is how I remember it working for this other member here years back when AT’s were on backorder.

My local dealer in Mobile wouldn’t match price. They’re at $4700

Lexus of Mobile is showing $3468

There is the $1k refundable core charge on return of old one

I did come across a stale page from last year that Bell Lexus had them for like $2950 and remember someone here taking advantage of one of their 10% off sales off of that price.
Nice! That’s not what they quoted me last month. Think I’m going to rebuild it myself anyways. I’m already half way there with the VB and valves. Already have a seal kit. Unless the clutches are bad, all I need now are the pistons

I bought my dashboard from Lexus of Mobile and picked it up when we were in Gulf Shores for vacation a few years ago :). They were far cheaper than any dealer within 200+ miles of me, and no one would ship a dashboard either. Nice little dealership.

I’ve never been there, but I call them every few months for part numbers. Parts guys are very nice. Prices on o rings are through the roof, 3-4X compared to Toyota parts deal

Have you tried Bell Lexus in Arizona?

I get non-Lexus-specialized parts from my local Toyota dealers. If the part number is the same, it's the same part. I have two local dealers who are as cheap as anyone else in the country. I usually order online and pick it up. Brake lines, calipers, rotors, drive shafts, engine sensors, wheel bearings, HVAC actuators, etc, are more often than not shared between a GX and 4Runner of the same year. For a GX460, one would presume numerous engine parts are shared with a Tundra/Sequoia.

It appears the GX460 transmission can also be bought from a Toyota dealer:

One of my preferred dealers has it for $3,200:

Yes I buy almost everything at the toyota dealership, and they got the transmission like 3400 with taxes.

My local Toyota dealership is a scam shop. I’ve purchased a few small parts from them but would never buy a car or let them touch one of mine. Horror stories about Eastern Shore Toyota.

The local ones I have up here (Bommarito Toyota and Lou Fusz Toyota) often have 15% off sales and free shipping as well, even on small parts. Often times I'll have them ship stuff as it saved me going out of my way to get there.

As does Bell Lexus - I've bought a number of ~$10 small Lexus-Specific parts with free shipping.
