he wont be alone, 3 of us heading up in the morning around 10ish not to mention Roger, Rob and a few others are probably already there setting up. The Sunday crowd always gets to partake in sudsy beverages :beer:early and stuff the goody bags.

@cruisermatt, my cell is 770-843-1581 if you run into trouble but I suspect you'll be an hour or 2 behind us. Safe travels guys!!:steer::steer:

Well, s***. Everything was going wonderfully until I lost 5th gear around Macon. Decided it was fine (couldn't really use it in the hills) and kept going. About 45 minutes north of Atlanta in Adairsville I stopped for gas and now this thing is stuck in reverse. I think I can fix this... going to be tough without a floor jack. Steve, do you have one with you? currently have four plans:
1.Try and fix now (pull 203/splitcase and reassemble with lots of red locktight)
2.Wait till you guys get here tomorrow afternoon and beg for mercy
3. UCF FSAE team is on the way BACK from Michigan on I75 with a 30 ft enclosed trailer. Might be possible to stuff this thing in there.
4. ??? Tow to ACC maybe? Or local GA cruiserheads... I posted in the GA page.

RESOLVED bumped it around a bunch in the parking lot I'm in and got it out of reverse.

Going to press on to Windrock and tear it apart tonight.

Keep us posted. Let me know if you need anything. Be sure to stop and get synthetic tranny fluid. Will probably have to be Mobil1 or whatever is available. I can bring a transmission jack.

You guys are awesome. I arrived at Windrock about an hour ago.

Tranny can stay on the truck and I'll just pour the fluid that comes out back in. I'm going to try and pull the 203/splitcase tonight, and either just reinstall the 5th gear nut or weld the 5th gear to the mainshaft. Don't care at this point.

Steve if you wouldn't mind a transmission jack would be great. Don't know if I need it or not but I might. Hope it's not a hassle.

Don't worry guys, @TeddyBoy got it fixed with very little effort.

Not a hassle. Have it loaded in the truck. See you tomorrow

Great wheeling with you guys this past week. Sorry about Steve's tranny but ya got a year to work out the bugs.

Bill on Rail Trail doing a little body repair.

Lol. That's pretty funny.

I'm about 250 miles from home. Luis and Steve and Bill shouldn't be too far behind.

:princess:

Arrived home trouble free. Just lots of RPMs.

Time to start repairing the truck...

Starbucks??? That's money that could be used for repairs.

Made it home fairly quick, 12hrs. No traffic congestion, two quick stops.

It's a standard coffee, $2.50... 4 hours sleep and I was getting drowsy on the road. Actually pulled over and napped for about 30 minutes after having only driven for an hour, then some coffee and I was good till about 12. Then it was time again.
Got home in 13.5 hours instead of expected 12 but I made a stop to pick up a crate LSX

(Just kidding)

I had a big part in Dennis winning the "Most helpful on the trail" award for the week, spending a good part of the day towing me off the trail. Then helping get my truck, trailer & rig down the mountain after the over heated brakes quit working on the Dodge. Ted & Steve of the GA Cruisers were super helpful on the trails to me and everyone else.

This was the biggest and best attended GSMTR I've been to in years. I'm surprised there hasn't been more pictures posted on Mud.

I got to wheel for half a day. adapter between the transmission and transfer case broke in half. No wonder, not much material there.

Still not sure why you didn't win the hard luck award?

Good to see you got it pulled - guessing it'll be fixed pronto. Then what to do - maybe join the GA Cruisers, since they at least wheel regularly....

OUCH!! At least you did it in style. The location of the break tells me a little support is in your future.

I actually voted for him cuz I know how much sweat and blood goes into building a rig. That said it didnt win cuz the rig don't cost 50K plus another 8K to fix.

And it happened a day earlier yet he still doesn't have his rig back. He had to hitch a ride home to south GA and is returning [hopefully] today to retrieve his truck.
