K, I use SEM Adhesion Promoter and then paint with a satin black ( my preference, not too shiny or dull..right in-between )
Duplicolor, VHT, and a few others have an AP.. I prefer the SEM brand for plastics and vinyl recoats. Have had better luck with the paint sticking to it longer.
Take your time. I put down 3 coats. 1st is really thin and the let it flash of, about 5 minutes and then repeat coats with an extra 5-10 minutes added to the flash times per coat.

Cool on the chopped idea/plan! I like that style myself if well done. The pristine 62 frame still has your name on it.
I got to say, those are the longest leaf hangers I have ever seen!!!

Good thing I don't plan on doing much rock crawling with this rig... hangers would poss an issue in more cases than not..... but, swapping back to OEM hangers and going SOA is not off the board yet......

Since I'm changing shades of RED on the paint color (Freeborn red to Barcelona metallic red)..... I ordered 2 yards of a darker red marine vinyl for the interior to help the IN/OUT transition.....

New shoes have arrived... BFG KM2s ~37s. Don't know when I'll get these mounted.. Probably when I go to paint the rig. I'll have to take them off to get Goss where I'm not 4-5 ft off the ground to get the roof sprayed.. HA!
They look a bit bigger because they are in front of the other tires..(hold the fish out further to make it look BIGGER!) I LIKEY!!
