Not the one in the filler neck, I thought there was another one in the tank right after the large port, the filling port to the tank. My thought is if there is one that perhaps yours is not flapping freely.

Ok.. 4BT.. No canister.. All lines were plugged from the tank to the fuel separator.

This is what I have now..

1) filler neck with the flapper cut out to allow for a diesel filler nozzle.
2) line that runs from the filler neck to the tank.
3) new 1/2" vent line from tank to above filler opening.

Did I possibly create some sort of siphon by adding the new vent line? When I blow in the new vent line I hear fluid bubbling in tank and air and fluid come from/ou the line tying into the filler neck..

You answered it right here, number 3.
If you hear bubbles when you blow in your new vent line then it is submerged. Maybe you grabbed a fuel return line to the bottom of the tank?
With this condition, when temps rise and you still have no actual tank vent it will force fluid out of the submerged line...

It doesn't go to the bottom. I can blow on it and it creates bubbles and air blows through the neck overflow. BUT, I can suck on it on never get any fluid, so its not at the bottom. I have a least a half tank of fuel.

I'm gonna go with Georg and say that the one line I have open is right at the fluid level in the tank. Its right on the verge of being submerged, hence the bubbles I'm creating. I hardly get any restriction when blowing at all. However, I can't siphon any fuel out of the tank by pulling a vacuum on the line.

Like everyone has said, it is weird and I think the way the cruiser is sitting and the temps caused the fuel to expand , burp and overflow.

I'm going to try and put all the lines back through the fuel separator and run a new line to replace the old canister hardline up to the air filter. I figure a few hours of my time to get a baseline back to the OEM design won't hurt anything. If it doesn't work... WELL back to the drawing board..

Odd...I have all the extra lines blocked on top of the tank, have the filler neck vent hooked up and a mostly sealing fuel cap (depends how I tighten it) and haven't had this problem. Isn't there a flapper door on the tank side of the filling opening? It's been so long since I was in mine.

I've got the same setup. All the extra lines are capped.

I do think there's a flapper door.

I'll check on the tank flapper.

I bent one of the tabs on the filler neck when I was taking the restrictor out. The cap didn't work right. So I put it on the work bench to remind me to work on the bent tab . I didn't figure it'd be an issue if the rig was just gonna sit until I got time to work on it.

That cap didn't seal at all. Can turn it and it never locks down/ seals against the neck.

Ran by the auto supply for hose.. They were OUT.. So, I'll try the neighboring town on my way in from work tomorrow.

Got home and woohoo.. more goodies..

Kurt is LIGHTNING QUICK on shipping. Marine vinyl, aluminum cargo slide rails, and parachute hammock arrived. (Jas you know you want this mod..)

I should have the front suspension covered with the planned additions to come... (winch and aux battery) Winch will be here in a day or two.

A, hammock (waiting on the second one) is a mod that Jas @ CY and I have played with for several months now. It will go nicely under Goss' awning for those hot days to help enjoy the beer and trail conversations... NEXT TO THE FRIDGE AND BBQ BUMPER!

Vinyl is for all the custom door and cargo panels..

Got all the OE vent lines back on to the fuel separator. Ran the line from the top of the separator to "new" vent above the filler cap. All seems good at the moment.

I need to order a new gas cap and bend the tab back on the neck. Hopefully this cures the issue. Thanks Johnny and Georg for the phone call help.

Now on to the next item...

(2) Die Hard Platinums (930 CCA group 65, be diff for 80 I believe)
Painless battery controller kit (waterproof version)
1/0 tinned marine positive cable ( measure your route with a rope)
2ga tinned marine negative cable (same ^^)
tinned lugs for above cables (5/16" or 3/8" can't remember for cable diameter)
HD adhesive shrink tube
military terminals and covers (you got this covered)

Tools as necessary.. I think it's between post 890-975 on Marley's thread

P, I had about 70ish ft in Marley IIRC. I never did the doors though because of the padding I put in the door panels I built.

I think a 100 sq ft kit would serve your purpose. I plan on doubling the mat from the firewall to about mid front seat on Goss.Then a single layer the remaining floor back. This is 50mil material. I think CruiserCrap is 70mil..
