Cold is .002" greater than hot. I used the table in this post for reference. When measuring cold they were all in spec except #1 exhaust. However, when rechecking hot they were all a bit too loose, so I tightened them up a bit to match the hot spec.

I do have a set of gauges that have the .002" step up, and they are super helpful. However my .008" gauge comes off a different set that is just flat, and it's all beat up from that one time I tried to adjust the valves on my old 2F with the motor running. It worked, but was more trouble than it's worth.

Link here, table is on post 7: right way to do it wrong - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/right-way-to-do-it-wrong.276106/#post4300965

LFG!!!

@Spike Strip Still running 0% O2 even after the B-Z rebuild of the smog pump. Tech said that it was actually good, but who knows. Results got slightly worse than last time, but I was running at 5* BTDC in 2023 and this year it was the normal 7*. Plus the cats are 2 years older, I don't really expect them to last decades like OEM. But whatever, I'll take it.

Tech says, "I remember this truck, didn't it catch on fire last time?" 😂 😂 😂

You're lucky. Rare for them to pass with 0% O2. There's something keeping the air injection from getting into the chambers. You got 2 years to figure it out. You have new check valves correct?

I don't think I have new check valves.. do you mean the large valve right at the entrance to the air rail?

Yes.

I do. Let me see if I can find them. Will look tomorrow

Do the FJ62s have an Air Injection bypass into the downpipe?

This is the reason I desmogged. My truck had already “auto amputated” the air injection system.

Wish I could, but it's probably easier to de-California than to try and avoid the smog man. CA legislature is working on a rolling exemption of 35 years if you have classic car insurance, but won't help me on this rig as it's my daily.

Yes. your eyes are open to truth young padawan. A move out of Cali is possible. we welcome all Landcruiser faithful to Texas with the only caveat being if you lean left then you have to move to Travis county (Austin) but if you lean right, then the rest of the state is open to you! Hey, congrats on passing. That is cool. And if you move to Texas, bring Van Nystat with you. He is quirky but loves his cruiser. Check out his ride on YouTube. Good day man

We're pretty much in the center on most stuff. The loud folks always get the attention, but they don't necessarily speak for everyone. Have some CA transplant friends who built a house outside Austin and they love it, maybe miss the weather. We have a lot of family close, which makes it tough to go far, but I'd definitely like to get out of the city.

The best (well, one of anyway) thing about true Texans (I'm a native Northern Californian, 26 years in Texas) is that you don't talk about things like religion or politics if you are friends. I have buds here that are rabidly opposite of me politically, we just don't bring it up and remain pals. Extremes in any direction is just silly... and that's all I have to say about that.

Hey man. I’m sorry. No judgement or offense intended. I was trying to be funny and it was a fail. You have been helpful to me and many others and I appreciate you. Again, sorry. I’ll go call my therapist now… ummm, maybe I’ll just go work on my cruiser

Changing radios like most of y'all change underpants. This time it's a CD player out of a 2003 Sienna, works great and no Apple snooping on what I'm listening to (The Smiths, if you really wanted to know). I'd ditch my phone altogether if I didn't need it for work.
