Best to send inquires Graeme about the airbox.
After the airbox and intercooler is sorted, I'm doing a slight reworking of the exhaust from 3" the dump pipe to 4'' to the rear of the transfer case then splitting it to a twin 3" over the rear diff when the bank balance allows.
It already runs inside the chassis, the shortest route is the quickest with less bends.

Looks like Graeme is the man to talk to about the airbox

Is that a fatz snorkel?

Not trying to take this thread off topic more than it has already has soooo......

Maybe someone on this forum could start another excellent "Official" thread for air box mods?

FWI here are the threads I am already following closely for my setup

I am keeping a close eye on you 58Bernie and your money sucking improvements, if you start an official thread on your exhaust mods then I will have no choice but to sell my kids for scientific experiments. Damn you, damn you to hell:ban:

Yeah Bernie's is a fatz snorkel. I have the same but backwards facing. I have a modified intake manifold that I will most likely not need anymore as I couldn't be bothered modifying my bullbar to get the front mount to fit so now I am on the look out for a w2a Intercooler and when my gturbo goes on a straight through 4" will be going on.

And those airboxes do look good you got anymore pics Bernie?

Just about at the end of it for now :D, but just a few little ones left to do :lol::lol::lol:

Then another dyno run, it will have some slight improvement on the last one but whether the clutch can hang in for just a bit longer is another story.
Wait until the videos are edited and loaded I did today with the Big Boy.

Dammit! All this recent talk about Toyota turbo-diesel power is gettin me excited. Graemes Gturbo's only started to make a name for themselves after I sold my 97 FT! Now that I have a new job I wish I still had the old 80 series and I'd love to be spending some coin on turbo and injector pump mods!

Cool! But does sidestepping the clutch at 3K RPM really qualify as low down?

Idleing in first and hitting the skinny pedal lights it up. So yes. It does say many times over the last few pages that the clutch is slipping.

Oh relax, Mildred, I was very impressed- that thing is indeed a rocket!

So with all this torque we are now getting and clutches slipping all over the place (as is mine so much so I have to replace it now) what clutch should we put in? I spoke to a guy at Exedy and he said the Safari Tuff probably wouldn't cope with my output (680Nm). And I want to get over 700Nm with a new air box too.

Another one I'm considering is Xtreme Outback Offroad Stage 2 with cushioned ceramic discs. The guy there said it should cope with 750Nm.

Has anyone tried a new clutch that actually copes?

I've already set up custom clutches. Ill just call the guys today and double check it will handle the new potential specs.
