Hey now you bastid, you got two 80's now don't you? :flipoff2: :flamingo:

Yulp, well kinda, Ones my girls but it gets wrenched on a lot. Other 80 sits in the drive way while it gets worked on, Its in the works of getting some 60 style brown paint added to it( So its starting to finally take shape) I am waiting on the tax return so I can get a mandral (sp?) bender to make an exo cage:D But its gonna sit there till its exo'ed & lifted. Until the money for the bender comes in I am just going to go over ever little part of the engine:rolleyes:

Until its done I am going to keep trail riding and DD Velveeta. Good Ol Velveeta gets 400 miles a week on it now. I love 60 series...just gotta make the 80 more 60 series.

Kickass!

Like many...I cannot wait to see this thing going!

Its been said a hundred times already but this is one of the most kick ass build ups I've seen. The machining is incredible.

looks very very pretty. Are you gonna put the PAIR valve/EGR back on ? seems like a shame but maybe required in Mass?

B, i think wagoneer is going to beat you and finish his build first. . . . .

Come one man, pics, pics, info, info. . .

come on man! its been almost a month now

Great Build Brian. The Fab work is just incredible. I am in the works of starting the research to install a 2005 or later tacoma V6 with the 6 speed in my '91 FJ80. I would use the orion T/C like you have done. Do you have any drawings with the dimension specs for the adapter that you had made? Also you mentioned you could get the spud shaft re-splined, what would that run for cost?

Keep up the awesome R&D.!

Sorry for delays, folks. Moving along again, we have an engine that is roughly 95% complete. Any day the engine hoist will get wheeled up to it, then bolt up the tranny etc etc.

Nice to see this project moving again, it's one of my favorites :)

Have you considered ceramic coating the exhaust manifolds? I'm glad that Toyota finally went with a cross flow head for the F series but it surprises me that they chose to run the intake ducting over the exhaust manifolds. Keeping more heat in the manifolds would mean less to heat up the air in the intake.

there are heat shields and a lot of distance between the manifold and bellows. i have never found the bellows to be hot.

and bjowett, go go go !!

I'll try to get the above pic links repaired asap...

The master cylinder is from an FJ60, it has the same 19mm bore and 29ish mm throw as the Tacoma V6 6 speed master cylinder. Along with that, it uses the same offset 2 bolt pattern as the 89 - 95 mini truck clutch pedal mounting bracket, which is being used. The hole for the master cylinder to poke through already exists.

A teaser pic for you...

good deal. I thought maybe the motor had fallen off the cherry picker and is laying on you or something. :)
