Hello folks,

I snapped off the nut that secures the trans shift linkage 💀 is this something that can be replaced with out opening up the trans, or any idea how to fix this?

That’s not so bad. Was expecting it being the shift rod that you snapped.

Just remove with an easy out.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about the lever that shifts the trans, there was a nut on a stud. how is this stud connected?

The FSM shows the center of the rod protruding past the nut that secures the NNS. I would think that if the nut "broke" you should just source a used one from someone. Perhaps you can post a picture of what broke off.

Could you post up a couple more photos including one looking at the shaft
from the side?

How often does this rod become damaged when replacing the NSS (IDK)??

And btw, I thought your original post was referring to the missing (what I thought was broken) bolt at the top.

So a generous application of penetrating oil to that nut/threads prior to removal might help??

If it’s a 343 the part number for the shaft is: 35561-30070
For the nut: 94110-40800
For the washer: 94512-00800

Any idea where to get this shaft from? or part numbers, I cant find anything
It looks like they are listed in the post just above yours. You probably were typing your question as the answer was being given :)

Do an internet search for Toyota Parts Online or go to your local Toyota dealership parts dept. Many parts and assembled kits are also available
from a Mud Vendor, search for wits end absolute ---
