Anybody can cobble one of those though! Takes a lot of work to do what you’re doing with your 80
Tell me about it. Love your super flex photos.

So the bumper got welded up before moab. It was my second big welding project and I was really proud of how it turned out. My welds definitely improved from the rear bumper. Even without the wings put on, it looks amazing. @1jzhilux has very good taste. I noticed a huge improvement from the arb which used to hang up pretty hard when I nosed the car into anything. I also got a set of light forces because weird old stuff is cool. Even if they're not that useful

Next big project was the sliders. I shopped around for DIY options and I didn't love how any of them looked so I called up another friend and he bent up a set of sliders for me. I wanted something tucked closed to the body, and well ..... wide. Which I definitely got. I liked the idea of kickouts but none of the available options seemed to kick out enough to really push the body away from the obstacle.

We flexed the cars out and then headed out to moab. The sliders definitely looked a little funny with the stock wheels and 35s

Sweet bumper, which brand is it?

The drive down was pretty uneventful except I didn’t have the sway bar link in the right holes on the arm. Everytime I would hit a bump or get on or off the throttle it would steer the car. The combo of that and the crazy panhard angle in the rear was no bueno. I fixed it somewhere in Idaho and it was better for the rest of the drive down. I should get an eimkieth thingy for the panhard

Dude how are you averaging 17 mpg lol I can barely get 11

do you have more pics or a build thread for the rear, including how you chopped the rear quarter on the body?
I don’t honestly, there’s been a bunch of dudes who have done the quarter chop and documented it way better than me. I did the chop and built the bumper outside while it was snowing so I didn’t take many pictures 😂

I did a tune up on the 80 today and changed out the filter… the filter was not in good shape. I also finally changed out my broken tail light… it only took a year. I also took out my 60L Engel it was HUGE and took up almost the entirety of the space between the drivers seat and the spare. The new to me 35L domestic should fit my needs a little better
