The damage to the inside is not as important as the condition of the outside where the wiper seals run. Can't tell from these pictures.

I met with CDan at Toyota in Albuquerque. He was no optomist, but could see in there as if it were crystal. I'm going to PM him the tear down results.

The cage on the propeler shaft grenaded whill all 3 diffs were locked and I was wincing off (out of) the beach sand. I drove a ways on the shards, and tried to go free wheel but couldn't get it done in the field.

Birf looks surpisingly good, shaft is ok too but the head is mashed potatoes after the clip. Seals are all dead. But back side of ball is all good new felt, wiper and ring should mate fine.

I camo disassembled so I have not seen inside the hub/spindle yet.

I'll post more picks in AM. Thanks for the votes of confidence.

File/sand it smooth and run it. I don't see where any of the surfaces that are damaged impact the birf, bearing surfaces or sealing surfaces. It is merely cosmetic IMHO.

file and sand smooth.

Any wear, run a weld and grind it back.

As long as its not out of shape, its good.

If you didn't bend anything and it's just chewed up, you should be able to clean it up and put it together with newer parts
