S.S. that would be great. Why doesnt some one do it here? MIke

by s.s do you mean stainless steel ?

its heavy , hard to work with , expensive and did i mention expensive and heavy .

only thing that cuts it is a plasma cutter a laser or cutting disk's, and they sure don't last very long.

you can eat up a 300$ set of drill bits pretty quick with s.s .

I'm in England so practically next door neighbours do you make or have plans to make replacement panels. I need rear quarters as we're rhd a complete body is not an option

Well made stainless tub shouldn't be heavier than mild steel. Thicknesses for stainless quoted earlier in the post are considerably thinner than mild steel. That thinness is possible because the stainless is "stronger" and "harder" than mild steel.

The difference in the materials in a sheet form is quite drastic and I would expect a good stainless tub will need to be different to stock tub in the hidden construction details, braces, supports and such like if the finished product is going to have a solid feel. Some of the forms in a stock tub might be impossible to create in stainless.

Done right the finished product should be lighter and will be very expensive, even in the cheaper stainless grades.

Drilling holes is a pain, best method is using a punch for larger holes. If stainless has to be drilled cutting lubricant is essential.

Cant be done ,too heavy,.... great work! I have found when someone says it cant be done someone steps up to do it. Re-think and you have the possible. You truely have great workmanship. Mike

i wish someone would make plastic front fenders like dirtbike fenders for fj40's easy to replace and more often than not just bend back from trees. or entire ABS tubs- never rust if anyone makes a million cut me in for a free set

Shiny. I gotta say that's the best looking Aluminum Tub I've seen put together, and that steel one looks amazing as well.

Hey Totoy,

Of all my years of going to visit my in-laws in Caunes Minervois and doing trips to Bezier, Gruissan, etc. I hear about you. My brother-in-law lives right outside Toulouse in the countryside, I'm bummed I won't be able to make it to France this summer but my wife and kids are going, I should have her visit your shop. Maybe next time I come to France you can help me find an HJ45/Fj45 pickup (I've seen them in the area) I plan on being there next year.

Thanks
