So I found it hard to believe at first. There was an ad of a 1995 land cruiser with 50k miles on it. The asking price for this SoCal fj is 7.5k. I was very skeptical. Fastfoward two days and I'm sitting in a truck lot at a private security company looking at this well documented fj80. The seller and I have kept a good line of communication. The only catch is that this Fj80 is Literally bulletproof. Is it worth it? Hmmm I have until monday until he takes other buyers....
    Give your input...

The mileage alone makes it worth it. As long as you don't need to roll down a window, you're getting a great deal. haha

Dual battery set up and if you look closely you can see even the engine bay is bullet proof. Here is the mileage.
When's the last time your 80 had these numbers?

I would be concerned about fuel consumption due to weight, but most defenitely buy it, use it until it breaks, then change the engine for a diesel and enjoy the next 10 plus years

I already have an 80 I'd be looking to restore this to factory and keeping it under 50k as one day it'll be impossible to find.

K294. It's locked. Does it run and drive? If it does, buy it. If it doesn't or motor locked up, I wouldn't but it's your call.
Looks like it has been sitting forever, which could at a minimum need a refreshed fuel system, new wiring due to varmints, front and rear wheel bearings, u-joints, etc. Worse cases; motor locked up or a valve spring breaks from being compressed in the same position for so long needing a motor rebuild. This would obviously be known if it doesn't run; however, there is a chance that it could happen 100 miles later like I've read somewhere on this forum.

I want to know what it weighs?
Old School (pre Aramid) Armor isn't light.

I'd check AC Function or its nickname will be "Sauna".
Does it get hot in Cali? Get a Yeti with wet Cool Towels to keep inside?

That thing has to way a TON! We hillbilly armored some pickups in the sand with Hardox, and that s*** needed 2 people to install 3'x3' pieces, then the trucks barely moved, and rolled over really easy. Check the suspension to see if they put MUCH stiffer springs in it, otherwise you'll be upside down in a river, and unable to egress out the windows!

Buy it, clean it, and loan it to a museum for the free storage. Also, post way more pictures. I'm curious how the engine compartment is made bulletproof and how air gets to the radiator.

It's possible that the mileage is not representative of the life it has led, much like a limo. The cost to transform it back to a useable DD is likely high.

I'd buy it in a second if I had the money. You know, if I didn't just buy an 80!!!

I do believe all that extra weight would warrant a 6bt swap, I'd love to see it on a scale!

    Buy it.

You can likely fairly easily remove the door panels and pull out the armor in the doors. The engine compartment certainly doesn't look bullet proof considering it has the OEM heat pad on the underside of the hood and stock OEM gas shocks holding it up.

No idea what you would have to do to remove the bullet proof glass but stock glass can be had relatively cheaply and I am sure you will need new regulators, etc since they were probably removed to fit the armor in the doors.

Still for $7,500, a 50,000 mile 80 is quite rare. But do not buy it to keep it under 50,000 miles in hopes that it will be a collectable drive it, and enjoy it. No one is going to want a 90's SUV ;) lol.
