That's a nice find! I'd pour in a bottle of Bar's Head Gasket fix into the radiator, then drive it home! That stuff works amazingly well as a temp fix.
Too much effort! Getting it to ABQ is all downhill. With the few uphills, just rollercoaster it. Accelerate on the downhill to get up the next hill. A trick that needs to be learned for 22RE vehicles. Check for white smoke, oil rainbow on top of the coolant, mayonnaise looking substance under the oil cap, and coolant bubbling first.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t contact them.
I just can’t get it until the end of the month.
If it’s a real post of course…

dealing with a compression tester is too much effort. Just pour in the stuff and drive it home. A head gasket ain't the end of the world. I have two vehicles with blown head gaskets for months.

Bar's works good as long as you stick to pavement. It got me home from DV a few years ago. But, as soon as I hit a dirt road it would start leaking.

Drive there with a competent mechanic, parts, and tools or bring a trailer. It's a bargain for a reason.

That's a bit of anomaly, not sure why that happened to you. It's not like your engine knows the diff between dirt and pavement!

My V8 has been all over with a Bar's treatment since last summer. I was just wheeling in Moab for a few hours over the weekend then towed the camper home with sustained speeds over 75. That stuff is amazing.

I think Isabelle's V6 had Bar's for six month before she did the HG project.

What would a mechanic, parts and tools do on the seller's driveway? Hand over the cash, pour in Bar's then drive it home like you stole it. It's a 22RE, and it's bulletproof. The trailer would be the safest bet, or a tow dolly as a second best choice.

I am glad you asked! Personally, we would buy the 4Runner. Drive over to a friend's place. Swap the questionable engine for the fresh 22RE we brought along.

I’ve heard nothing since I emailed this morning.
If I get a reply I’ll let you know.

I am in.

The 4runner is cool find. I would offer to help a potential buyer since it is in my neck of the woods but I am out of town. Good luck, I hope one of you gets it.

Well, the post for the ‘95 is gone, did any of you get it?

I swear I emailed them minutes after they posted as I have alerts set for a pretty big area.

Oh well. Hopefully someone from here got it.

I hope it found a good home. I know NA 2.4 liter engines suffer from elevation sickness at 7500 feet.

Could be the situation like what I did… I put a truck up for sale (non Toyota) for cheap cheap cheap and got 19 messages right away! Decided to hold off, so I removed the post and began to find out why everyone pounced so quickly.
Maybe they sold it or maybe they realized they had more than they thought.

Or you bought it and are going to raffle it at SAS 🤪

Maybe… maybe not… 🤣
Watch out… you never know!

But it’s not a front solid axle… would not fit into SAS, 🤔

7500? Mine started to gasp at 4000.
