so, you think the shape of the tub is as important, if not more, than all the extras, mechanical soundness and engine and such? from what I can tell, the tub is in good shape. unfortunately, I cannot drive to go see it as it is 600 miles away, so I am relying on his email and photos. but, it looks damn nice from what I have seen.
 
Any interest in a '99 Yukon? All factory options except sunroof(i.e. leather, heated seats, power seats, CD, etc etc). Has 175k well maintained highway miles(dad commuted from DC to Virginia Beach -500 miles roundtrip- twice a week for 4 years). It's black w/ grey interior.

No, I do not think it is more important. Mechanicals are always more important in general. However, we are talking about an asking price of 9.5k obo.

There is always a general rule to not ever buy a cruiser that you have not seen in person or have had a trusty source look at it. I would recommend that you find someone close to look at it.
 
that might be tough, but good advice. I would love to look and drive before I buy, but it is so far away, it cannot happen - and I do not know anyone where this guy lives. the guy seems honest and trust worthy and seems to realy know his stuff and be up front about the rig. I have dealt with owners in the past that are pushy, condecending and just give you a bad all around vibe. this guy does not and I have seen a TON of photos of it.
 
Man, there has got to be someone on this board that lives close. Post it in the 40 section that you need help looking at a cruiser. Many many members have done this for other members. And, this guy might be an honest fellow. It is no offense to him, just good buying processes.
 
I will post some this weekend when I get a chance to take them. It looks like a black 80 series to me :doh:

Sure sounds like a great deal, no one would ever try to sucker you into buying a piece of junk landcruiser over the internet, and I'm sure he has the receipts for the $30k he spent on it too..

If you want to send me $9500 I will sell you a piece of junk that I will tell you straight up it is a piece of junk.

85 BJ70 no longer for sale

Hi all. Sorry, but I have decided that I just can't let this truck go quite yet. I'm going to complete the body work on it that I have already started and then get it all painted. I may put it back up for sale again in a few months depending on how quickly I get bored with it ;) , so keep your eyes out. Thanks for all of your interest.

Local dealer has a 95 FZJ80 lockers FS in MO- $8500

While driving around town, I saw a 95 FZJ80 with lockers at a local dealership. Hunter green, factory running boards, 130K miles, has a Reese hitch- looks like it started to rust or something, b/c it has a bad paint job over it, but it is just the hitch. Body is really nice. Tan interior. DS and PS front seats are splitting in the middle where the thread is.

From my viewing, that is the only problem. JT3DJ81W0S0108609. PM me if you want more info and I will give dealer contact info. If I did not already have 3 cars, I would grab it 'cuz it seems like a great deal.

I've got a non-running 84 FJ60. Rust free, straight except for rear gate and bumper. Still closes just fine. Original brown paint, interior pretty good. Very original.
