Truck is on ebay with a minimum bid set at $5000K. Talked to him on the phone too. rns01 is a reasonable guy. Good luck with the sale. Sounds like a deal is to be had.
 
1980 FJ40 for sale in VA

First off, I am located in Alexandria, VA.

Daily driver for the past 3 years. Vehicle is in good condition, has current inspection through August and has no problems passing.

Things I have done

Sanded and POR-ed the frame
Replaced gas tank and POR-ed new gas tank
Replaced heating system (water pump, pulleys, hoses)
Replaced Brake Lines
Installed new Custom Exhaust (Flowmaster 2.5")
Replaced carb
Treated any rust
Previous owner coated underside with waxoyl protectant.

everything works.... wipers, heater cores, all lights, except odometer. Speedo sometimes works, and all gauges work.

Only bad rust is on rear sill.

Hard top is in great condition.
Mileage on the engine is unknown because Odometer is not functioning.
Previous owner put a Chevy 250 Inline-6 in this vehicle.

asking 5000.00 for everything, including old parts... old carb, old gas tank, and misc other bolts, levers, handles, etc.

Is it yours? It'd have to be cheaper to interest me, especially with a repaint. Makes you wonder if there was an accident?
If it truly was just a color change, and the paint job was high quality, and it is in good mechanical shape, it would be a good deal. It does look nice in the pics.

That is very nice! I am comitted to selling the craprunner (not really a piece of crap, but it is compared to my old 93 FZJ80) and getting an 80 or 100 but it will have to wait until the fall. Our first baby will be here within 2 weeks, the wife doesn't work (or get paid) over the summer, lots of diapers to buy...
That 80 is my favorite color, with my favorite interior color, with great mods, lockers, Bullbar, etc. PERFECT! But I have to be responsible and wait. AAAARRGH!
