Had to look. It's not bad. Soaked that floor in vinegar then linseed oil. Someday soon I'll look at the underside...

How much for a front driver and passenger floor pan. Have a customer that wants to install
Some new ones in a pig. Trying to get him a quote.

Thanks,
Tim

It is a Cali hole, cuz I had the same one.
I still owe @bobm a 6er or a bottle of Scotch for the drive side body mount.

Guys this is total sheet metal ignorance on my part and 100% not trying to take any business away from Bob if he wants to start producing patch panels again.

How difficult is it to make a jig or die or whatever it takes to make these panels? (I would never take this on) but If I wanted to take the time and cut out panels on the floor, etc. are there sheet metal companies out there (that can use a computer to “map” the piece and then stamp it or whatever the process is to make the patch panels?

Like I said I’m totally ignorant of the process. It would probably take a huge run for this to make sense to any of these companies but I just thought I’d throw out the question. Is it real steel that makes parts for the 40 series? And then you have the Chinese company that doesn’t sound like they are gonna touch 55 patch panels due to demand. Are these massive million dollar metal stamps that are making these parts or could a relatively large custom sheet metal company bang out 200 of these without having to pass on a massive price to us piggie owners.

Don’t beat me up too bad if this is a dumb a** thought stream..

Sorry forgot to add…there was a gentleman up in Canada (Kevin I believe) that I purchase a freaking BEAUTIFUL 45 tailgate repop from and a valence patch panel for the bed and the headache rack. That’s kinda what got me thinking. I don’t know if these were all hand made or if he was able to use the machines at his company to “mass produce” these parts. I’m sure this has already been answered somewhere but I’m being lazy and thought I’d throw it out there.

It's actually kind of nice to see everyone is in the same boat with these rigs. Will you weld a body mount over it and reattach it to the frame when you are done?
I already did the fix.

Have him make em

Sigh , ok guys here it is Bob isn’t making panels anymore, Bob and I have talked and hashed out a deal I’m taking over for him with his supervision to get the product made it’s been in the works for a bit and trying to find the right “shop” to get these made isn’t easy I’ve gotten the round around a lot and shops don’t even do it cause they are to busy I’m not sure how it is where you live but the trades in maine are short handed and slammed, I work for a crane company as an operator/mechanic/ supervisor doing 50- 70 hrs a week I’ve never seen it this busy in the 17 yrs I’ve been at this company,
The latest shop that we are working with I met with him Wednesday, he is the only one so far out of 15 shops that is putting the time in to try it. I’m hoping to hear from him next week on a price on what it’s going to cost and how fast I can get some made up,and I’m not going to lie I’m not sure what pricing will be cause the cost of materials has gone crazy, let alone the shop time, but it’s in the works if any body has questions sent me a pm if you want to talk pm me your number and I gladly talk with you about it, I’ve met quite a few of you in person with Bob at the pig party and the sss last fall which were epic trips 🤗🤪
Thanks Jonathan

@bobm i am so glad I was able to get some of your last items for my ‘69 pig last year. All four frame mounts, driver and passenger floor panels, and scuff guards! They are now all in my pig and are beautiful!! Wish you would have had two rockers because building those from scratch was some real work. Thanks Bob!! @remy1974 if you can make this happen the pig community will love it! Good luck!
