finally getting things finished up. i should have it back sunday!! then i get to start putting the interior back together. when i get my diff back i'll probably POR15 the axle housing while. it's apart and paint my front hubs. i'll collect those things over the next couple weeks so i'm ready for that project. i'm stoked to get it back.

It'll be worth the wait!

spare isn't mine. he thought it might be but it's not. have a few little things yet to sort out. one headlight not working. mud flaps need to go on. need to hook up my rear lights etc. little things that'll make it awesome. all power locks and windows work again and the rear hatch also works well!

dynamat in etc etc etc. now interior!!

and yes i'm already hauling a bunch of the kids crap around. including them for short ride!! i need my seats back in it because they don't want to drive in any other vehicle.

Damn that came out spectacular! Seriously jealous and makes me want to just go out and buy a welder to get back to doing body work on my truck to eventually paint.

Congrats dude!!.

thanks. i'm just grinning all day. i just got word that kurt had my diff put together and will be sending it out tomorrow. it's reving too high at highway speeds and the 4:11 should bring it to a reasonable range. it'll be a little quieter that way and with the interior back in that should quiet it down a bunch more. this engine is loud inside right now!!

got to work on the carpet tonight. what a pain the front piece was. the shifter for the h55 in my truck is so tight to the dash that i couldn't get the carpet under the heater. it took about an hour and a half to get it past the heater. it all fits pretty nice. it's a little baggy over the tranny hump but not so bad it'll be a problem. the rest fits very nicely. i used my old wheel arch covers as i couldn't figure which new vinyl one goes where. they're too cold tonight to flatten out anyway. i had some frost form on my front seat while i was getting the carpet in (yes working outside as the shop has my 40 build spread out in there and my chevelle is busted down in the garage. i have to push it into storage and deal with it next year :( ) i have the passenger seat left for tomorrow. the trunk will wait a bit yet. i also peeled off the old underlay and put that down first. hopefully it won't bunch on me over time

on the original carpet along the doors there are plastic channel strips that are stapled on. i was thinking i'd hot glue them to the underside of the carpet or should i rivet them on? i can't staple them as i don't have that kind of stapler

so far im quite pleased with the carpet and how it looks. i really like that they give a little extra material that yes you have to trim but that's way better than being short and having gaps

thanks. it's been a bit of a surprise from where i started to where i am now. i didn't expect to go this far away from stock but i guess that's the cruiser madness!!

Hahaha, yes! I hav my truck mechanically taken care of, now the hard part is the cosmetics...

for sure. well it's been a while since i've been able to do this.

that just feels right having the crew back in here with me!!

Thank s for the carpet updates. I have mine on the way. I will install mine after I get the 5spd done in November. Hopefully
it will be warm enough to get it played in there. Looks awesome, I was talking about the family, carpet look pretty good too! :-)

i can't remember the cut off for the 60 but late 60 series and 62. there's a few posts from torfab that'll tell you exactly

the carpet, underlay and seats on top of the dynamat have made it so much quieter in the truck. i'm really a impressed with the dynamat.

can any one tell me if the trunk light is just an off on switch or should it go out when the hatch is closed? i don't see a switch to turn it off and it's been so long since i've driven my truck i can't remember!
