Hi Franklin, I see you are missing the spring assembly (J60 Landcruiser front brakedisk OEM Number 0441122000 Accessory Kit)
, that is one of the cheapest parts.
It makes the pad retract from the disk to prevent dragging.
Also the pin needs to be clean (or new) so the pad can move freely to prevent dragging.

Maybe I mounted them wrong so it is a bit of searching, the FSM seems to do them like this:

Bottom picture is the right way to do it, with the triangular piece of the spring below the pin.

I've pulled these brakes apart on my 40 a number of times but this was the first time on my 62. I totally missed that!! of course I'm missing them. I'll get some next week when I'm back home.

on another note my skid plate and sliders have been shipped!! I'll get them next week

with new carpets ordered and the truck going to the body shop next week I figured it was time to take the interior out to make sure there was no big rust problems inside. it's actually super clean under everything. just some fuzz from the underlay that's stuck to the tub!!

LOL... didn't know that Trail Tailor was shipping an installation team along with the carpet purchase!!! That's pretty awesome!

You wouldn't happen to have the part number to the rear lock trim piece in post #246?

a little status update. i saw the truck last night. rear quarters are all cut out and the bumpers are off to be repowder coated. i had him cut holes for flush mount backup lights before it went in too so that'll be cool. the panels from wolf steel are pretty nice. the need to be trimmed and worked a little but will more than do the job! the front fenders came as patches though and he thought he had ordered full fenders. i think he went to cool cruisers in the end to get full fenders so they'll be on their way soon. inner fenders are pretty good. he said he's impressed how good the body is. it's really only the lower 6 inches that has all the rust so his thoughts are its still way better to try and fix vs doing a body swap especially if I have to buy one sight inseen. there won't be any rust free bodies around these parts. im going out to a wrecker this week to pick up some 40 parts and there a new 62 in the yard i'll pillage a little too for some good parts. i need a new tail light housing as some of the wring is corroded and breaking apart. anyone have good leads on new ones though?

socalove here (another vendor) has been making them. he's in the middle of moving so I'm not sure what the status of new orders. they are getting powder coated and the tail gate is going to have some texture in it somi don't kill myself standing on it

my bumpers were sent it to be repowder coated. they were peeling and rusting. well the guy coating them decided it would be good to first zinc coat them then epoxied them them coated them. that should keep them from rusting again. things are coming along with it.
