Anyone seen this 55 specific catalogue before?

I was buying a 78 toolkit from a fellow that owned 2 78 55's and this catalogue came out of the woodwork. A few years back, he sent his pigs off for scrap because no one took an interest in them (sad day).

Anyways, as I was about to leave he pulled this catalogue out of his shed and
of course I could not refuse buying it from him :D

It is a 600 page catalogue published in 1969. Lots of great images.

I am curious if others have viewed anything similar

Scanning

Would you consider scanning into PDF?

It's too bad that the book is bound. It will be very time consuming to scan as each page will have to be scanned individually. If it were the binder type then it would be very easy since it could be put in the autofeed tray of a good copier and scanned.

The other problem with it being a bound book is that scanning would probably cause damage to the binding. Since you have to get the pages as close to the scanner as possible, the binding will be bent. So scanning also depends on how you feel about keeping the book in the condition it is in.

There are special scanners that are built specifically for scanning old bound documents without causing damage. Used to use one for a research project I was working on. Only problems is that their not too common.

i'm not even sure how to.

There are document services that will create electronic versions.
If we could find one near you, I would be happy to upfront the scanning (assuming it is reasonable $) and then we could charge a few $'s for each CD that people order, or we could just accept donations and send anyone who wants it a big PDF...
