Can someone please tell me what fitting goes on the water pump to connect to bypass hose. I bought a fitting from Napa and it fits into the water pump. However the diameter is way too small for the bypass hose to fit. They sent me to a specialty hose place. We determined the size is between 3/4 and 1". 3/4 being too small and 1" too big. We thought maybe a barb fitting might work but nothing at Tractor supply, Home Depot, Lowes, nothing. Has to be a factory setup part that I am missing. The truck came with a water pump that bypassed fitting for heater but came with new correct water pump that I have installed.

Thank you

For what it's worth, this is what the OEM fitting on my NOS pump looks like -

Maybe try a specialist fitting place to get something that works until you find one.

Wrong waterpump, should have a cast fitting. I bet a big block chevy bypass hose would fit( same fitting size!

Thanks, seems to be just over 5:8’s which is way too small. Does anyone make a water pump for these older ones?
I'll go try and measure what the hose place crimped my fitting down to. As far as I know no one is making these pumps anymore. GMB was the last aftermarket source. If you have an original Toyota one (not a GMB unit), you can rebuild them using a Willys Jeep pump rebuild kit. There was a guy on ebay that could rebuild the GMBs I believe, I can go dig up that info as well if you need.

Are you sure that a cast fitting is the only correct union? This September '66 Manual specifically lists the fitting I show in my photo above and not a casting -

I have had cast fittings on OE pumps also, but believe both can be considered correct.

Also, the large radiator side water inlet must come in straight, not at an angle like the later F155 motors, even though the later water pump is a functional substitute.

All my early 65 f engines have had a cast fitting( about 20 engines, so the sept 66 could be when they changed things.

my initial 3 live in-hand prototype samples sent to me , are same TOP SHELF perfection level status quality as the 87140-10010 above is ,

- have NOT assigned a part # to little cousin below yet , because , he has a 2nd intended application as well too , that is a work in progress , ....

thanks for letting me share ....:)
