Just posting in case it helps others. I found this tailgate on ebay (then the companies website) and am very happy with the quality from Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 FJ45 Steel Body Parts. I had not seen their site before. I'm sure others have.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 BOLT ON TAIL GATE

I plan to paint the tailgate this weekend and then remove my hard top for the remainder of the summer. Will be the first time I've had the top off and I wanted the tailgate area filled with something and the look of this tailgate should be nice.

I was trying to exactly match my sky blue paint and went to my local Sherwin-Williams shop. Girl there was super helpful and actually tried several tiny batches until we got it as close as possible. When she mixed a batch from the 854 codes it was way lighter than my color and actually looked a little gray. So then she experimented some and finally nailed it.

This was her mix and it matches my FJ40 color perfect.

Dimension paint. .24 pint quantity. You would need to do the math as you had larger quantities made. I ended up with a quart, but these numbers were from the .24 pint quantity she first made.

DM622 - Dimension - 57.40g
DM507 - Red Blue - 23.10g
DM522 - Strong White - 14.00g
DM505 - Green - 14.10g
DM500 - Strong Blue - 5.10g

Awesome that you found a good place to match paint.

I was contemplating on getting the other style they sell on ebay for my project, but then I saw how much guys were selling the factory hinges and latches for on ebay. It would be cheaper for me to buy a clean one with hardware than go that route.

I was in the body business for years and matching paint can be a challenge. The body supply place we used had several different guys that did it, but we all knew the right guy to go to for exact color matching. The other ones didn't come close to his ability.

That is nice. Looks better then the CCOT version that I got for $100 HERE. Kinda wish I spent the $300 for the Real Steal version.

Here's what the CCOT version looks like on my Sky Blue FJ40 (recently painted).

Eh, I bought it cheap from a Mudder way back when....never really paid much attention to it. It's off, but not by much.
Just curious. I just ordered one from Real Steel. I'm a little concerned as the body panel I bought from Real Steel wasn't even close to the original piece so I had to cut it up and refabricate to be able to patch in the panel and have it look stock.
