It is actually a Daihatsu Rocky (Taft) - but never seen one like that before!

Oh...coolio. Thanks.

That Daihatsu is hilarious! It looks like a baby Land Cruiser in the same sort of way a German Shepherd puppy resembles an adult - it's obviously the same species, but the proportions are just. . . wrong.

Eat your vegetables little guy, and you can grow up to be an FJ-40!

If you're just snapping pics of all the 40's you come across, it seems like you've got a very high percentage of snorkels there in Malaysia.

We still have a lot of rainforest - and a LOT of rain!

Very nice, thanks for posting, good to see what my neighbors are doing....Lee

Pearly, great photos, keep them coming.
The Volve axles are interesting, what would they have been off?

Volvo C303 aka TGB11 4x4 lower ratio 5.9/1
Volvo C304 aka TGB13 6x6 higher ratio 6.9/1

I have the last ones under my competition rig for 3 years ... very reliable

Just seen this sweet 40 in Jakarta. No rust that I can see! You can see the spot welds on the side panels tho, but at least you know there's no Bondo on there!!

I'm guessing the springs n struts are still the original ones - they are looking kinda flat now. It is still a beautiful beastie tho!

Those are some cool rigs. FJ's are like Coca Cola. It's the only thing you can find everywhere else in the world.

cruiser

Thought I might share some pictures from my visit.

I have to say that if you ever have the urge to see a landcruiser, go to Koto Kinabalu, ML.

I counted 20 in 1 minute several times!

Place is crazy full of cruisers of all ages.

More rigs. I saw several tow trucks. This one was a 70 series, but saw several 45 series towtrucks. Always the bright yellow
