So...... what is the conclusion here? If the Toyota 81110-60P70 headlamp kit (reflectors + wiring relay) is purchased, is the H4 Halogen bulb as good as it gets? Or........... are the LED bulbs mentioned by ToyotaMatt a better way to go??

Thanks.........

The housings are not made for LEDs. I don’t think the people coming the other way will like you very much.

That said, just try out different bulbs and see.

This isn’t an exact science, from the user perspective. Everyone is going to like a different light and pattern.

With LEDs in there, you’ll need to worry about heat output since LEDs run cooler and won’t have the power to melt snow, if you have to deal with that in your life.

The thing I don’t like about my Stark LED bulbs in my KC and old Roundeyes housings is that there is zero “cut” from low beam to high beams. Low beams are awesome if you are alone one the road. TONs of light but when you hit the brights you can barely tell.
The only use for the brights it to basically flash at oncoming traffic to apologize for being a bright light a******.

Thank you, gents!! I fully understand now. Your time and thoughts are appreciated.

I’ve never used the Toyota housing with LEDs. I ordered a set from my Toyota dealer. I’ll test out some bulbs and post up.

Anxious to hear the outcome. I'm going to order the housings/harness myself. Either way (halogens or LEDs), my lights should be greatly improved.

I'm thinking of using these...

yeah there are tons of LED housings
Out there. I think we are trying to hash out some
That look OEM

I have a set of @Racer65 lights in my 60 and they are awesome. Total cut off line for
Low beams and a high beam that works.
I just don’t like the looks of
Them on my 40 or 50 series trucks.

most all of the purpose designed like you posted work great.

I personally want a 7" round with a bixenon projector inside so I can run hid bulbs. I would like it to look factory, but I will personally sacrifice some factory look for light output. What I would really like is a fluted glass housing with a bixenon projector inside. I came across a vendor that had such a housing but can't find it again. I dont want to go led because I feel like the light throw on high beam is poor. My current h4 housings have led bulbs and are great on low beam. And if the bulb is oriented correctly doesn't blind incoming traffic. But hi beam illumination is poor.

Hella makes H4s in a variety of wattages. As I got older I just kept upping the watts. I'm using Hella 80/100s now. As my eyes got
older my preference for a whiter light grew. I like the 5~6K band. The old 4k halogen just doesn't work for me. I haven't found a plug in
LED H4 HI/LO that worth a damn yet. They point all over the place. I have a set a truck now that have a usuable low beam but the high beam seems to be set as a distress beacon for space travelers. Thanks, Onur, for the part number. I've been buying Hella or IPF housings.
Just ordered 4 of the Toyota units to give them a test.

What do you mean about the high beam on yours now? Too dim or too bright?
