OK latest news is i picked up a complete 80 series and am taking the 1HD-T engine out and putting it in this truck. I'll get some pics up soon. Also if anyone is interested in a 2F engine let me know.

Thats not the point. It would be awsome to have an old 45 with a turbo charged diesel. I'm not a big fan of the 80. To soccer momish for me.

Yeah i got my work cut out for me though. I have to go through the engine it makes a funny noise i think one of the bottom end bearings might have kicked the bucket so hopefully it hasn't caused to much damage. I'll have to find out when i pull the engine out and get it on the stand.

Just keep the thread updated and the pics coming:)

That's gonna be a really cool swap. Keep us posted.

Well the engine and tranny are out now. Got to check the engine over before it gets mounted in the frame. Here are a few pics.

Where did you find a smashed RHD 80 in Alberta? I must be looking in the wrong junkyards :meh:. Cool project.

I actually drove to North Battleford Saskatchewan to get it. I'm pretty excited about it. Could I intrest you in a 2F haha. I'm most likely parting out the rest of the 80 if you need anything.

Is the rear axle a FF? I might be interested in that.

I'll have to check the rims on it have center caps so i can't tell i know it has disc brakes and a limited slip.

Yep, FF.

Hey Canadian Bum, those eighty series axles would be nice under the FJ45, although about 6 inches wider?

I'll check for sure. Does the rear axle have the same center section as the old land cruiser axles? The 45 has a full float rear and discs on the front but i have been thinking about swapping the rear axle into the rear of my BJ40. 73FJ I will let you know what i decide to do. But I do have another toyota full float axle with drums so if your interested I will inform you first on which one i decide to keep.
