Nice work!

You're will need to shorten the sliders down about 3" to clearance the bigger tires. Cut off the end cap and butt weld it back on after you shorten the slider bodies down.

Heck Yeah... You guys did the hard work on the end caps already. I will be cutting out a 2-3" section and re installing that end cap.

LT can you recommend a paint that matches the Metaltech sliders? somewhat close to the powder coat?

BTW, when are my Radflo's coming?

Thanks
Adam

What Radflo's?

Part of the reason for cutting was using longer travel shocks. I am going 7" travel shocks up-front

Here is a radflo shock

Ace semi gloss black spray bomb matches the powder coat pretty well. Not sure on the Radflo's I would have to give them a call for an update.

As in the 7" lift specs for the front.

Then no bueno for me.

I was a fool to have ever considered bumping where it is now, and not cutting the fenders, but don't get a big head about it. : flipoff2:

I have about two hours of work left on the body. I will be Cutting sliders today and front bumper. I should have some photos up by lunch.

Delancy, As soon as the radflo's show up I will send some pics of flex etc... my understanding is I will have the CG of rig lifted 4" inches and the travel of a rig lifted 7" now that I cleared room out in the fenders..... back at ya :flipoff2:

Anyone want any other shots of the fender work etc..? before I cover everything in bedliner? nows the time..

How about a shot of the rear wheel wells, or have/will you started on that yet? Nevermind i'll see it when you come to Pismo!

37" Tires FJ80 Fender Trim Job

How about a shot of the rear wheel wells, or have/will you started on that yet? Nevermind i'll see it when you come to Pismo!

I am not touching the ass end until after I return from Pismo. I was able to stuff the rears and hit bump stops without rubbing!? I will be beating it in Pismo to see if anything needs to be addressed in the back. At that point I will either be cutting the rears, folding the lip, or nothing at all... Dont know yet.

To answer your earlier question I dont have a clue where we will be camping. Its been a while since I have been there and cant remember the layout. Any recommendations?

Fitting 37" tires on FJ80

Ok, here is an idea of the body work that needs to get done. A skim coat on the fender and some sanding and then its ready for bedliner. If you were going to paint the fender than it may be worth having an expert take it from here.

Here is how she is sitting now. (The body work on the doors had to be done from a little incident in Tahoe) My sliders pushed through some rotten wood until the doors touched and started folding so that whats going on there.)

A couple of us run the same lift and tires and still have the flairs.:meh:

I'm looking to go with 37's pretty soon. Running 35's now. I have the OME J lift w/ spacers up front, ARB front bumper... What backspacing & wheels are you running or suggest? I've heard of a couple guys running this set up with no problems.

I currently have a 3" lift and i rub my 35's on the front and rear when i jump at pismo, and occasionally when i'm flexing on rocks. Interested to see how you fair when you come down here.

As for camping; there is a cool spot to camp between pole 11 & 12 on Sand Highway, tucked up behind a dune bowl with vegetation and a bathroom. If it's not taken by someone else already.

that cruiser is beautiful. good work

Fitting 37" tires on FJ80 more eye candy

To keep up with the "step by step of what I am doing to finish this project... I have to cut fenders, front bumper, and re-design my rear swing out to accommodate a 37" rear tire, apply bedliner, re-apply liner, Install s*** back on the truck and go beat the truck...
