Fixed it for you.

Haha.

On that note, I just opened a letter denying my tag request.

I'll try IRONPIG and see if they'll accept.

Never had a desire to have personalized plates, but figured why not. Requested 1972PIG abs denied, even thought its not a duplicate.

The jury's out on 97PP80 which no one outside of Mud would ever even know meaning. Surely that'll fly.

silly boy, jeeps are girls

Bahahaha.

I could run with that for the purpose of humor, but it'll all sound chauvinistic, which I'm not.

I can see a correlation between Jeeps and SOME girls.

When considering reliability, dependability, ability to completely draw me in, extracting every little bit of attention and money out of me possible, I can only think of like a (my, my, my, but that doesn't sound as good. Don't get bent out of shape, I said "my") woman.

Bahahahaha.

And you drive a what?...

i drive a pighead
i never said jeeps are "FOR" girls, i said jeeps are girls. they'll break parts and quit where they are like a high maintenance girl snaps a fingernail.

denied the plates why? I saw one the other day...EASHNDI...took me too long to get it and figured it out just as I thought to read the frame, which also read eat s*** and die!

More packages if 41 year old goodness.

sorry, but them things er boat anchors.....all 2F exhaust manifolds er boat anchors:o. CALIsucks:doh: buuuuut it's pretty OG for that look you're goin for. do not separate them, have the exhaust vacuum tested, and if it still has good vacuum, you can either have it milled for a good plane and run it OR go ahead and separate them, have the heat riser removed the shaft openings rebushed and the shaft polished and turned to fit the new bushings remate the intake to exhaust, vacuum test the exhaust and the know it's good for another 15 years....many of the single piece manifolds have warped or cracked, but that one looks pretty nice, you might have a good rebuild candidate. the 3 piece exhausts are much better cause they don't warp. but they still have more places to leak from. I'm hopin 3FE manifolds do the trick with a nce balance between multiple pieces but not many places to leak from. the head design is what I've realized is the downfall of the f series motor with its paired ports:rolleyes: shoulda done a Ford 300:mad:

Here's similar, for anonymous source....for humor.

"My limited experience [[almost as many years as I've been alive, for reference of how many years experience quoted has]] has constantly been that OEM Toyota components are nicer looking, better built, better finished, better fitting and better performing. They are, of course, also better money.

To me the better money is almost always worth it if you can swing it.

When it comes to the F and 2F I would lean toward tossing them in the bushes off to the side of the carport and going with a 350 Chebby. A lot more power, better fuel economy, lighter, yummy V8 exhaust note and you can buy parts at 7-11 at 2 in the morning."

End quote.

All about restoring, in this case. Pulling off headers to do this. Hopefully not the dumbest thing I've done. Haha.

School me, please.

oh, don't get me wrong, I'm died in the wool F series bandwagon cheerleader...aside from the Ford 300 having 7 main bearings, it has a head design where all of the intakes are on the right side of the chamber when facing the manifolds, and all of the exhausts on the left. This means that each individual port is completely surrounded in gasket on all 4 sides of it. IMO, where the F series paired ports marry, it effectively leaves each port only sealed on 3 sides of its runner, creating weak spots in the gasket at the longest sealed edge(top or bottom of paired ports, smack in the middle- the weakest point_on the gasket) this is why we are constantly battling manifold leaks. I noticed that the 3FE manifolds are also equipt with runners for each port that separate the exhaust ports all the way to the collector. too bad they'll never pass smog on a 2F.....

Was bound and determined to get the Pig out today, and succeeded, but not without multiple fails.

Parasitic drain somewhere, but considering the stellar hack job on wiring, can't tell from what.
Battery tests fine (was going to swap today, but least of my concerns) so jumped and away we went.

First fail wasn't our doing, but janky station's that's a 1/2 mile away (still no brake lights, but not a well traveled route. I was cautious) because they were out of gas.

Funny, since sign says "We Have 100% Gas".
Do they mean 0% of 100% Gas? ;p

Cross-flow head is nice (vs. our counter-flow design), why will 3FE exhaust never pass e-testing on a 2F?

cause they won't look right:rolleyes: even if there is some sort of functional heat riser, it won't count in Cali cause it is not part of the original design...I might could get away with a ref sticker- big hassle, take it to ref, figure 300 bucks per visit, if he don't pass you, he'll give you a piece of what you should do and say come back. their schedule will have you wait another 3 months- but that's ok cause you need to have another kings ransom for the revisit. you can not have a second ref get into things ever. the one you get, is the one you get. you'll have to prove that the system works as it was intended from the factory if any mods are made. IF you can manipulate the system to get a heat riser to work enough to get the refs ok, and IF he oks the non factory EGR cooler location and pipes, and IF he feels it is all mounted in a professional and permanent fashion, and IF the system passes every variation of a dyno'd emissions test, then maybe he'll give you a sticker. FWIU, they don't give stickers to anyone but most valuable return customers;) I will try to build the "best" set up I can with toyota components, while also having the factory manifold kicked back into somewhat working condition and re do an exhaust tract for the "smogger" manifold, put it all into plastic garbage bags in the garage rafters only to be used for a day or 2 every other year:rolleyes: prolly even keep separate carbs. the 2 year shuffle...

This sounds like something a certain bearded old guy I know would say.

;)
