Nice attention to detail. Shane, you are doing a "rockin" job!

The seat heater issue makes me wonder how long until we see this more often. Mmmm.

Some of the urgency for a deep clean is clear to me now. Dorito bits will attract vermin.

How is the headliner?

While it's open you might as well clean the rear heater squirrel cage.

I blew that out and the duct work. Then a hard blast in every opening of Lysol.

Thanks!

The pass side burned all the way through the leather, at first I thought it was burn from a joint that I found. Also the drivers side back at the harness.

Shane,

Great thread! And you got a free joint out of all your work .

Can't wait to hear more about the seat heater replacements. Mine just seem weak and take a fair amount of time to get warm. Apart of your seat heat panel is it just for the bottom seat portion or will you have a lower lumbar panel too?

I know it wasn't on your list but if you think you'll need/want an aux circuit for the rear of the LC (think fridge/freeze, charging circuit for a 7-pin trailer plug, etc.) now would be the most opportune time to at least route the hot wire to the rear panel.

Good question and it will be just the seat bottom and no lumbar. Its a major stress point there on the corner.

As far as the wire,. pass side? What kind of wire? fine strand or thick?

Well you can run it on either side, its identical. The advantage of doing the pass side would be if you're doing a dual battery setup. Currently I'm running a single battery so my rear power center is fed from the drivers side.

wow...that is quite a task you've taken on. what the heck happened to the original interior anyways - Katrina victim? bet the recipient of that J was bummed out when it was dropped it into the chasm of doom.

LOL,

Not a swimmer, in Southern OR and AZ one owner truck that was owned by a wealthy family that did NOT EVER clean it.....

I've only looked at this thread 247 times! Each time I get a bigger WOW! Keep up the great work. I thought I cleaned my vehicles well. My definition of clean has been raised a few notches! Kinda scary about the seat heaters...I have a buddy that HAD a Honda Pilot in Chicago. He started it early one morning a couple winters ago to be nice to his wife...cranked the heater, popped on the seat heaters, etc. She came out a few minutes later and the truck was on fire! Some sort of short in the seat heater? I guess it's good his/her butt was not on the seat when it decided to start on fire!

Wealthy families usually pay for cleanings don't they? Guess they were enjoying smokin' too much to remember the "we should really clean this thing" conversation the next day:doh:

By the way- this is a fun thread to watch.

Strange that both seat heaters had a failure. I would worry about a failure further upstream that fed too much juice to both.

carpet is in...

Every cable and movable part has been cleaned and lubed. (shifter, center heater cables, ect ect)

Found a broken cable guide at the door pull. Only wat to get the sleeve is with the door latch FAWK! another $220

All door windows work well and not deathly slow any more as they are cleaned and lubed.
