Here’s my T4plus from a trip a while back.

when did you break down and get one?

I have had the rv5 a little over 13 years and mine has been great. But like pacer said its large to store. You would think it was a 4 room tent the with the size of the bag. Over the years i have had only one problem and it was user error. I did have to replace the storage bag as mine got too much sun and fell apart. I would get a good ground mat for it. I used to use tarps but went to the oztent mesh floor to protect the thick floor.
I ordered the RV3 Plus version with their ground saver mat knowing that it's going to be transported on the roof. I think Oztent recently improved the storage bags that come with with RV tents and includes a rain cover for the bag. Who knows, hard to tell - my shipment got held up with the Vancouver Port worker strike.... I did order a bag from Drifta for the Oztent and it arrived fairly quickly via air. It's solid and big, I could probably sleep in it instead.

Just ordered the Gazelle T4 Overland on their site...$429.00 with free shipping and no taxes. Amazon had it for $401.xx, but added tax, so the same in the end.

This is going to be a slippery slope!
welcome to the dark side.... we have cookies!

damn that must be a hell of a bag if you are going to sleep in it!

I love my gazelle, plus with my usual state I’m not climbing any ladders.
Your setup with the optional annex room is awesome! I may need to rent some space.

Great to hear the review....since I'm not really into camping, I never realized that there was both the foam cell and air combo...I've always hated the traditional self or pump inflated air only mattresses.

Looks like REI is actually quite a bit cheaper than the Bobliesure site...guessing our economy right now has everything out of whack. REI is $259 for the xl/long 10 model while Bobliesure is $432 for the same one.

In a perfect world, I'd love a little trailer to tow and then sleep in, but I don't see that happening anytime soon and don't really have a place to store one. The RTT is so bulky, I really don't want that up there when out wheeling for the day, so most likely going with the Gazelle Hub 4 overland to sleep in, but if the weather is hateful, I could always fit in the back of the 80 and use the tent for storage to unload the truck some.

All of this said, I need to make sure that I can be off that weekend before I go buying anything!~!!
Eric - you can't go wrong with the Exped or REI Camp Dreamer deluxe with a Gazelle T4 and plenty of Bourbon and IPA's.

With that combo, you will sleep like a baby.

As far as weather, always hard to predict at the Cove from my experience camping there over the years. We have had hot evenings some years and then down right cold ones like last year. Mr. Buddy is a good guy to have along if needed otherwise a decent sleeping bag and wool blanket, barrel proof Bourbon etc. - you'll be fine.

@prharper I forgot I can try out a gift from my father.
He gave me an old wool blanket that he got from the grandparents house when they passed.
Turns out it is a Hudson Bay and it's a queen size so it will be perfect if it's cold at the Cove!

Too much to use at my place it doesn't get that cold in the condo!

Speaking of wool blankets, I have a few old US Army wool blankets and one of them has a bit of an odd odor. Doesn't really stink, but it's noticeable since the others have no odor. What's the preferred method for destinkifying those things? Or for cleaning them? I guess I could play Russian soldier and just spray vodka all over it then put it in a trash bag in the sun for a few days (works for my shoes!) but I'm assuming somebody must have a less sacrilegious solution. @76FJ40 What did you guys do to keep them clean back on San Juan Hill?

you'll love it, i bought my T8 used and its been the best money I've ever spent for camping. @afgman786 we need to get Gazelle tents to sponsor the club lol

Coldest I recorded at the Cove for Fall Crawl was 8 Deg one morning! It did not get much warmer during the day. It was a cold year. Always be prepared!

Anyone else planning on just sleeping in their LC? I have a sleeper platform, probably just going to bring a sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and plenty of blankets.
A lot of times I do i have a similar set up, but if im gonna be somewhere for a few days it alway nice to have extra room of a tent

Agreed...as long as the stars align for me, I'll be there for my first time in a camp outing. Thinking that I have enough room in the cruiser to lay out with the Exped (still need to purchase) if I so chose and use the tent as a shed, or actually stay in the tent if conditions are reasonable. If nothing less, it'll be a decent changing room... ;)

Yup, I have a $10 Walmart clearance aisle tent, might as well bring it just in case

Is it musty?
If so just take a bucket of COOL water and a cup of laundry detergent. Soak the blanket to get it wet and lightly brush or rub it then rinse with cool water and let it air dry on a clothesline or other area where air can get to both sides of it.

Just got the email from the boss... Vacation days are approved
Need to work on the menu.... And getting the rear bumper sorted!
