My engine rebuild is currently held up because the "floating" ends of my exhaust manifold are frozen. Need one in decent shape. I know they changed a little bit over the years and I'm not positive of the upper cut off date that will still work but it's probably 1979.

Think I have one off my 12/79 40, can look when I get home.

I have this one.

Ideally, you should be considering a matched intake/exhaust set, as the manifolds were machined as a pair, so you will have less alignment issues.

And if you're not running smog, it won't matter if you get a pair pre or post 1/79 (EGR moved from the center section to the rear section.

I have a non-smog Saudi pair available if you're interested.

Edit: I pulled the Saudi manifold set off the shelf to grab a pick, but…the ears are frozen on it too.☹️ Maybe when I have some time I will try to budge them with a flame wrench.

When I have time.🤣

Thanks Mark. I appreciate the advice. We were going to get the flanges machined as a set regardless but it might be much easier if they are close to start with.

Greg, if you’re still looking, I found this pair by accident a few minutes ago while cleaning. Cleaning up is what I HAVE to do when I can’t find something!

Flapper moves smoothly. Looks to have a fresh thermo spring. In fact, it seems to have been serviced, as the exhaust is SO clean. Unfortunately, I do not know the provenance; I bought it as you see it, along with some other engine parts of various years, in 2017.

Forward ear moves easily; rear responds to taps with a hammer, but does not move by hand

Nada. Have intake but cant find the exhaust manifold. Either sold it or scrapped it, even though I dont recall doing either.

No worries. I got a matched set yesterday. Need to close this thread.
