Autozone is just testing the alternator is charging. If the bearings are bad it will still charge fine until they finally seize.

Good point! Will definitely have mechanic look at alternator. My last battery lasted about 2.5 years and I think the last time alternator was replaced 6-7 years ago..

Bisho, is talking about the bearing on one of these pieces, it could be the altenator or another bearing. Testing the alt and seeing 14v is fine but if the bearing is going it will seize.

The test is pulling off the belt and spinning them and finding the one making noise and replacing that.

I don’t think that’s true, they can make noise and stop. It’s why people typically hear them squeal in wet conditions first. It’s all about how those little balls in the bearing are making contact with each other and the container.
A bearing would make a constant noise and maybe try tightening the fan belt.

Since all belt related pulleys and idlers were replaced, I don't know what other bearings could be causing the noise other than the alternator. I did notice the noise after the first crank but once I backed out of garage and put gear from R to D it will sometimes make a quick squeal.
Already made appointment with mechanic to hopefully get to the source.

The squealing just happened more than once and couple seconds longer when I got out of work. Earliest appointment I can take my car in is Wed. In the meantime, can anyone let me know what's the safest belt dressing I can spray at least or just leave it along? I felt slight sputtering too when I pull up stop sign but then it went away, kind of weird, never experienced this before...

not a fan of belt dressing
did the fan bracket get replaced?

And fan clutch. I think I will just wait until Wed morning to the mechanic.

Belt dressing is not advisable, with belts that use inside & outside.
