My @ToyotaMatt box arrived so I can move forward on the engine.

Awesome tensioner rod thingy he sells

Thermo housing plugs

New carburator isolator

Then I have this lunatic over to weld the O2 bung and the pipe back onto the exhaust

Aight. I’m done for the day. Added the coolant and when it got to the thermostat it leaked like a bitch. I don’t usually “recycle” those but this one was very clean. Luckily I had another setup here.

I hate coolant.

Can you give me some insight into the header wrap? Also is that some sort of heat wrap on the fuel line? Also wondering if you ever used the Redline Sniper adapter stuff? It looks comparable to the Mosely stuff. Just wondering if/why you have a preference.

It was cosmetic on the down pipe. This one was nasty looking. I normally toss these things but you have to use this setup with the PTO

Redline stuff is great. I use Mosley because he’s a key business for my business and we have been friends for 20 years

And yes I use a heat shield on a rubber line. Mosley sells a nice hardline that I use as well.

I’m hunting for a good Switched 12 then I’ll be able to fire this thing off this afternoon.

Initial start I had no temp. s***ty Chinese temp sender was not good. I had to replace with one I happened to have spare. Can’t tune without that
IMG_1256.jpeg

Got the timing set to 10* and then dialed in the IAC
IMG_1253.jpeg

I had a leak in the fuel line and got it stopped so I was able to get the skidplate back on
IMG_1257.jpeg
IMG_1258.jpeg

I’ve seen Toyota ads where the exhaust was under the skidplate and now I know why. The PTO keeps it from being above the skid

Got to put all the pretty stuff back on.

I have to do the throttle cable and I can take it for a spin

Eager to see how it scores on the jump🤘🏻

I picked up a “emission” style pedal to make the Lokar conversion easy

This is the old pedal
IMG_1265.jpeg

This is the style that has the flat plate that taps the button inside for the emission system.
IMG_1266.jpeg

Drill a little hole in the plate and fish the Lokar through the

Pick a spot. They all seem to have a different spot for the cable to come through

All done.
