Awesome! Co pilot ?! I think he will be the driver!

Awesome! Co pilot ?! I think he will be the driver!

you know it. i call him the baby-gestapo for a reason.

he's 3 years old right now, goes to daycare. they have breakfast at 9am every day. a few weeks ago i get a call from the lady that runs the joint; great place and they treat him like family.
turns out my little cretin son made his way into the kitchen at 8.45am stating "i'm ready for breakfast." so she replies "oh, yeah?!". he does'nt even bat an eye and spouts off "today we're having pancakes". well, he did.......

i'm gonna do everything i can to keep him busy and get him interested in things early on. not here to push him into things but definetly encourage him to do what he likes and is good at. if that's rock crawling then so be it. that little boy is my biggest priority by far. nothing else even comes close. :D

3 shades of adorable

Nice videos of Jebber driving G's rig. Jebber, are you ready to upgrade to a more capable rig?

Nice picture of G's son. Good thing he does not have his father's looks. He'll make a great co-pilot. I'm sure he'll be much smarter than his dad.

Built 80s will not have any issues on the 'Con.

Yea but your only seeing half the ugly!. JK, ya'll did good on getting Jeff out there. Video of pivot rock is awesome. Guess doors would be bad on that line?

Half the ugly? Of everybody? Sounds like a pretty good gig to me!

Why has the video been removed?

Awesome Jeff! I know you had a permanent grin on your face.

We had been on the trail for about 15-20 minutes when we caught up to a guided group ahead of us. We met them at a wide area and quickly pasted them to avoid getting caught behind them. The trail is mostly narrow and very few places to pass.

Hey, that was us! The 9 am group led by Glen (Rockthedog on Pirate)

Dinner was awesome. Ross Woody and the guys can cook up some grub. In the raffle, ironically, I won only 1 prize. A free event to Marlin's Round Up on the Rubicon in September.:p I gave it to Nick.

Glad you like the dinner -- I always worry about Texans, since they love Brisket, and Tri-Tip is nothing like Brisket.
<rant>I'm still working on figuring out a decent brisket recipe that I can cook properly. But I suck at Brisket right now. And I think they keep all the good cuts of Brisket in Texas ;)</rant>

Anyway, I like your trip report. The reason the Chopper was there is because the owners had him there for the previous month moving debris and supplies to restore the Springs after the winter damage. There were several sheds that had to be rebuilt, and all of the logs that line the camp grounds washed down to the Dirty Dozen camp site, which blocked the trail. Since the Chopper was there, it was easy to offer up the rides. It doesn't normally happen, and in fact it had been 5 years since the last rides there. At the Jeep Jamborees, they charge $100 per ride, vs the $60 at Rubithon.

As to some of the other questions out there, 80's are the way to go. I don't think you really need a grill out there, and some years it is illegal to burn. With an ARB Fridge/Freezer, you can pack enough for 4 days. On the Double Locker Run we pack for 8 days (enter Monday AM, leave Sunday late PM, plan for an extra day in case of breakage). It can be done, just share spares / equipment with others if space gets too tight.

I just re-read Todd's trip report from our ride there and I wrote if the trI-tip..... That is so good ^%#

Chopper was there in 2008 so I assumed it was a yearly thing.

Ross Woody is :tits: and can cook his arse off.

Ross, when does the FJ Cruiser become a Rubithon rig?

The boys at Lone Star LC have an open invite for you California guys to come on out and eat some brisket at the Round Up next year.
