I just re-read Todd's trip report from our ride there and I wrote if the trI-tip..... That is so good ^%#

Chopper was there in 2008 so I assumed it was a yearly thing.

Ross Woody is :tits: and can cook his arse off.

Ross, when does the FJ Cruiser become a Rubithon rig?

Nolen - Thanks! Y

eah, '08 was the last Chopper visit. It had been awhile since the time before that. Becki Pardi works the Jeep Jamborees with her Husband Robert Mutzig, and they had the hook up that year with the Chopper guy.

The FJ is still a ways away from being the Rubicon rig, I think as long as I have my 40 it will be tough to justify messing up the FJ. But that day is coming soon.

The boys at Lone Star LC have an open invite for you California guys to come on out and eat some brisket at the Round Up next year.

That's good to know. I'd like to make the trek out there next year, maybe instead of going to Moab. When Texican came out to Surf n Turf we had some of his. It's damn good, and I suspect he's no amateur at cooking it. We happily accepted his World Series bet, and enjoyed the brisket he sent out to our club. Even if he did pack it in a Cowboy's cooler!

y'all think the tri-tip i make every year in katemcy is good? it ain't s*** compared to woodys'. bar none. come to rubithon and find out. or maybe you should'nt. that way you'll still like mine.

Yours is good Georg. I just have an advantage of getting to cook so much between Rubithon, Marlin, Raiders games and other events. Someone asked how much, and I think it's about 600 lbs each year.

Heck yes. Gotta hit the bookstore and get me a copy, my subscription ran out.

I looked at that mag this morning.

I believe Georg's 40 is in there a second time. The picture of the water crossing that mentions "those are 37" tires".

Aren't your stickies 40s, Georg?

Thats gotta be his 40. The dented aluminum tub is unmistakable

That is Georg's 40. The editor for the magazine hitched a ride for a bit of the trail in the back.

went to the marlin roundup at rubicon this weekend. garrett's first wheeling trip in the buggy and to the con. had a great trip. went up a few "optional" lines without pushing it. did'nt want to scare my little 3-year-old. one time he were seeing nothing but blue sky and he looks at me "daddy, we're fully gettin it". i almost peed myself. too funny.

on the way out, just past cadillac hill i started hearing a clunking noise. thought "busted t-case mount", no biggie. but it got louder. so i stopped, climbed out to take a lok and found the busted link mount. 3 miles from the trailer, not exactly on a dirt road or anything along those lines. put it in 4low and crept back to the tow rig. made it. :steer:

Wow, that's too bad, but the new setup looks pretty stout. I'm sure I stressed out the link mount on Old Sluice for ya.:grinpimp:

I hope you guys had a great trip. Did Nick go with you?

my new full-time co-pilot. might be a couple of years befoe he makes the trip to K2 but it'll happen. coming home from rubicon is a 3-4 hour trip. he rides in the front of the tow-rig with me in his kid seat. not once do i have to listen to "are we there yet" or "i'm bored". we just hang out. i love it. :grinpimp:
