Made it to the camping spot at Buck Island Lake. We got the choice spot since we passed the other groups. Our base camp until Sunday. We ate good all trip. Georg took care of me for sure.

Awesome jebber!

Glad you kept sheilala's ride upright ...

; p

That place looks awesome !!

Day 2

Day 2 was a play and chill day.

We started off driving around Buck Island Lake and hiking up to an upper lake above it named Rockbound Lake. The snow melt had the water flow rolling. They had snow on the trail just three weeks before the event. Record snow fall postponed the event by 1 month.

Above Buck Island.

Rockbound Lake. We had to cross a wicked stream over some boulders and trek through the underbrush to get to it. Worth it.

Marlin and his wife rolled through camp. Had a good discussion with him about Texas, John D Hale Band, and Hard 8 BBQ. He says he really wants to make the next Round Up..... with his truck.

We spent the rest of the day chilling. We heard that a bear ransacked a camp about 1/8 of a mile up the trail and stole all the food they had. I was hoping to see a bear but not in camp.

Day 3 next. Rubicon Springs or bust.

Georg,
You sure have had an awesome 5 or 6 weeks of wheeling!
Livin' the dream, man. Livin' the dream!

Day 3

Day 3 we loaded up and headed down to Rubicon Springs to hang out for the event dinner and raffle. We did the last of the Sluice sections of the trail, Big Sluice.

Dinner was awesome. Ross Woody and the guys can cook up some grub. In the raffle, ironically, I won only 1 prize. A free event to Marlin's Round Up on the Rubicon in September.:p I gave it to Nick.

We headed out from the Springs at dark. We wheeled up the trail through Big Sluice and back to camp in the dark. Night wheeling on the Rubicon is freaking amazing. We were lucky enough to have a full moon. That night was one of the highlights to my trip. Georg spotted the trucks through the bad stuff and I got to drive. :steer:

Day 4, the last day to follow...

...So when are we doing this trip to Cali?:grinpimp:

I told my Wife about this trip and she's willing to go... but on a plane!:hillbilly:

She and Jonas will fly to Cali and Fernie(lil'one) and I will drive!

Jeff that's a trip of a life time!

Now you look on those pix as a kid w/ a new toy!

..and I don't blame you, seems like a lot of fun!

Day 4

Sunday we woke up realizing that a small bear came through camp and ransacked a cooler. He ate the lunch meat, a butterfinger and carried off a jug of milk. He must have had some cookies back at their den.

We tore down camp and loaded up the trucks. I was not ready to leave at all.

We made our way up the Slabs on the way out instead of taking Old Sluice. The Slabs have some amazing views.
