Worked over the weekend, on day 8 of 12 now, but found an hour to visit Mum with dogs and go for a walk.

often underestimate just how devastating they can be. Even when they are just playing with a human, they can tear us up.
My old boy on the left locked his jaw onto my throat while we were having a wrestle, he was still a puppy playing but I just about s*** my pants.

He still slightly favors the rear early in the morning and after river time, now he's growing a good sized lump on his front right elbow. Not enough to stop him from getting after the coons and feral cats. Not sure what he killed today, but he took a few licks from it and definitely rolled in it after he was done. Country livin'

Our boy is just hitting 1, or so we guess. When our neighbors found him on October 3rd we figured he was 8 to 10 weeks old so we’ve just set the beginning of August as his birthday.
That Kong toy has been the only thing that has lasted, everything else has been destroyed 😂.

He’ll be a worthy successor to the king.

Got a call last night for a last minute rescue.

His owners were arrested for animal abuse among other crimes and all their animals were being seized. This boy refused to go quietly, and while they were able to catch him, no rescue wanted him for behavioral reasons.

I saw a fearful dog.

Here's to finding and fixing his problems.

I named him Argos.

We’ve come a long way from the timid dog I met in the shelter….. how she made 3 separate kill lists is beyond me.

Because shelters are all overwhelmed, especially those that are forced to take owner surrenders.

I live this 24/7 now and am starting to hate people

24 hours later and I have discovered Argos' issue.

Everyone assumed he was a pet line GSD with abuse/emotional issues.

But his physical and behavioral characteristics strongly indicate he is a working line GSD.

s***, people were afraid of him when in reality he was just talkative.

I'm starting to thoroughly enjoy him.

I’ve had German Shepherds and/or Rottweilers since 1982, all working dogs. My Rotties have tended to be especially talkative. One in particular got “excused” from a show because he was just talking to the judge who wasn’t particularly familiar with the breed. I have a fifth generation Schutzhund female GSD now. I got her 10 yrs ago. We were expecting a pup from a different litter but our breeder called one day and said she had this little one who was going to take an owner who is very familiar with the breed because she’s such a talker and has such a sassy personality. She hasn’t quieted down yet🤣🤣🤣. Every day when we get to the exercise field we hear the same “lecture” from her demanding that we let her out and throw her ball for her. When we open the door to let her run to the car she makes vocalizations that the uninitiated probably think sound like we’ve been torturing her. I spend hours happily “singing” (howling) with my dogs. I wish I could understand them as well as they clearly understand English, German, or Dutch depending on which they were trained in.

You're a literal saint among mortals, I love every bit of this

Windows has separation anxiety, so I always leave the door to the 100 open as he will nest there while I'm working in order to make sure he isn't left behind. I'm 99% sure he's starting to go deaf which probably aids the behavior. Either way, I love my Pig Pig, but this special boy has changed my life exponentially.

Despite the recent injury, Pig had pretty much bounced back. Glucosamine from Tractor Supply has been a help. I'm trying to find some CBD that's isolated as to not give him any THC that is affordable to add in which should help wonders as I'm told by a reputable source. Pig got a good hour in farming rocks today. I often wonder where I would be at without these two men. On one hand the freedom it affords is huge but on the other the solace seems to far out weight the other personal benefits. There is a handful of men that I have been thankful for in my life, and these two are at the top of that list as I reflect on what makes this journey important

People finally woke up to the fact that Buford is the perfect dog, and he went to his forever home today.

Was happy/sad to see him go, and got a call later from the adopter that he went crazy when I left. He threw himself against the door I left from and howled for an hour or so. Hope they work through these big feelings. Best and worst day of being a foster.

On the way home got a call for a rescue emergency. It's 96 F here and a dying man's elderly caretaker couldn't manage his large dog, so he left the dog out on the porch in a crate.

Rescued this big and beautiful boy and put him in Bufords place.

It's the dog Continuum and there are always more dogs than space.
