Does anyone know what 5 speed went into my truck?

85 22R-EC xtracab as described in my earlier post. I didn't write down the bottom line from the ID plate.

DId these trucks get the same tranny or is it a crapshoot between the 55, 56 ,etc.?

I'm studying the FSM and don't know......there's 3 W types and then the G52. I don't have the truck nearby to check, and the guys near the truck can MAYBE turn on a computer if they had one, and don't have cell phones.

I'm pretty sure the G series was usually if not always behind carbed 22rs.

Not all of the 22RE powered 89+ trucks and 90+ 4Runners came with a W56, those that had ADD came with a G58 transmission and a chain drive case.

I'd read the "all 22R-E trucks have W56 tranny's" line so much I believed it, and then imagine how pissed I was to realise I had that lame G58. I mean, that, ummmm, *rare* G58.
