Lots of chevy guys running the sniper or fitech systems on other forums with good results. I am trying to convince my brother to put one on his mustang

I am considering the Holley multi port stealth ram. Anyone have any experience with it?

We installed the sniper kit on my Dads '72 fj40 with a sbc. Went from a q-jet and the throttle response is way better. Looks clean, easy install and being able to tune with just the control pad is pretty cool too.

Does it use a wide band or narrow band o2 sensor? Narrow band are far more difficult to tune. The sniper uses a wide band and is somewhat self tuning. If you have to have a profession tuner tune the stealth ram that will cost you an additional 1000 bucks most likely.

Mods, can we please move this to
GM/Chevrolet

I have no idea, I will have to figure that out.

Pighead, I just the read the build specs. on your cruiser. There is a lot of your rig that is not orginal toyota anymore including some of your engine internals. Purist I think not. Cool rig though.

I also run a q-jet on a small block Holden V8 and have been reading with interest..

Take a look at the dynamicefi.com EBL Flash: EBL_Flash

I've been running it since 2007 and I know many others here are as well. It's a very good system. There's extensive info and help at thridgen.org, usually in the DIY PROM forum: DIY PROM - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

Regarding WBO2 vs NB O2 for tuning - EBL can use either tho WB is faster and easier.

The search is over I purchased a Holley Stealth Ram multi port set up today. It was being sold locally on Craigslist, was new and came with a bunch of new parts. The seller was supper helpful in walking me through the system.
It came with a billet msd distributor but I am considering going with an electronic version, so I will be researching that next. I also need to purchase the fuel pumps and such to get fuel delivery squared away.
I convinced my self this system would give more control over the engine and potentially result in some fraction of slightly better fuel economy. Honestly I though it would look really cool under the hood of my crusty cruiser.

The rig is pretty much already built but I may start a modern rebuilding thread or something.

Here is a teaser picture of what I picked up.

Oh man that's beautiful! Congrats. FWIW, the $200, 60psi, Holley fuel pump that came with my kit, is an $85 Walbro. I'll get you a part number if you're interested.

If you have it handy that would be great!

Hi Tank, I double checked my numbers and was off a little. The Holley pump that comes with the kit is 80gph, where the one Walbro I bought is 60gph.

It looks like 80gph is good for up to roughly 700HP, where 60gph is roughly 550HP. So the 60gph Walbro should be fine (edit:I assume your 383 isn't making 550HP) , that is, if it provides enough pressure for your Stealth system. That I don't know.

Anywho, this is the Holley I was talking about at @ $200:
Holley 12-920 80 GPH In-line Universal Electric Fuel Pump

And this is the Walbro (same manufacturer as the Holley) @ $85:
GSL392 Walbro Fuel Pump Inline 255LPH Performance with Kit | eBay
Walbro GSL392 Inline Fuel Pump 255LPH HIGH PRESSURE (universal external pump)

Hope this help and sorry for the confusion.
B.

I have followed your FJ40 carcass with vortec heart in this 40 section for a little while. What the heck does it matter that this is in the section? The 383 here in my build is siting in a 65 fj45, very much 40 series. This thread could have gone the 2uz way but I was swayed to stick with the 383. Someone else may benefit from that conversation. I am finding the other members in this thread very helpful.

By the way I do enjoy watching your build as you have integrated some very random art into it. Good luck with it.
