Thanks guys!
Was able to get 17 packed up this weekend!

Happy to wait a few more weeks for mine.

...
I know everyone wants to get these asap but if anyone is not in a huge rush please let me know! It would be a huge weight off my shoulders if some can wait a few more weeks. Also let me know if you were hoping to get them delivered to hih or before hih.
I am doing my best to work though all these issues in a timely manner and appreciate your understanding!
Thanks.
Ben.

PM sent @benc , I can definitely wait so others who are needing to get these before HIH can have them in time!

Are any of them getting powdercoated before shipping (obviously for extra cost)? Thanks for the update

@benc I can wait as well. Have a few trips coming up but HIH8 is not one and I have gone this long without skids so what is another month or so.

And besides.... as my wife always tells me... the longer you have to wait, the more you will enjoy it! Sometimes I feel like she is selling me a line of BS...

@benc, I'm good with waiting and making sure you can deliver units to HIH8 to save shipping cost for some individuals. Just let me know when I need to come see you for both skids and bumper install. Couple more weeks or month won't hurt. Thanks Josh

I can wait as well.

Thanks to everyone that stepped up and offered to wait a bit longer!
That is a tremendous weight off my shoulders. I had enough guys step up that it looks like I have enough packed up to fulfill the other orders.
Keep an eye out for the invoice for shipping. Also let me know if anyone with a current order would like me to deliver to hih.
I will have one of my employees tow a 7x14 trailer out so should be able to fit several sets in there.
I will need to collect around $50 to cover my packing as I will pack them all up.
Planning on shipping out the 17 sets next week.
The guys that have said they can wait should expect them to ship around the 1st-2nd week of July.
Thanks!

I like the idea of aluminum skids- especially for us folks that dont live in Moab or wheel Tin Cup on the weekends, they are an excellent option for DD Hundy’s. Bens offering is a substantial upgrade over other aluminum skids. Here’s the difference in thickness between Dissent skid a competitors aluminum skid plate. Dissent is about 30% thicker. The advantage of thicker aluminum goes beyond the impact resistance, I also believe it doesn't resonate engine sound and vibration as much as thinner material

So @abuck99 ... decided to “trade” those other ones in huh?

I can’t wait to get my set, but while you all are heading to Silverton I will be up fishing and camping in the Crystal Basin so I am at least happy to see the first run going to good use at HIH8. Besides the 100 might even stay home so I can pull a trailer...

BUT hopefully Ben will be calling me soon after he gets back to setup an appointment! AND EVEN MORE HOPEFULLY.... some of these will get some true abuse between now and then!

Any updates on shipping? Hopefully mine was one of the first sets to be shipped. I took all my stock skids off a few weeks ago when I pressure washed and cleaned the undercarriage. Been driving around without them and the gas mileage is atrocious.

Is there that much difference on mileage? I never checked when I pilled my skids off for the lift. I just attributed the change due to the lift.

Not sure why gas mileage would be worse as

1) airflow resistance should not be that different from stock,

2) weight (especially aluminum) plays minimal role in gas mileage other than stop/go/accelerating.

w/r 2, offroading stop/go increase should be balanced out by reduced air flow drag, so minimal impact (says my minimal mind).

When you remove the 1st (steel) and larger 2nd (some kind of plastic) factory skid, you're basically exposing the crossmembers and a bunch of other crap underneath that will catch and drag air underneath. I do alot of highway driving and definitely noticed a decrease in fuel economy since removing them. That's just my experience.

Anybody get a tracking number yet?
Sorry guys, check your inbox. The skids shipped Tuesday, I forgot to get out the tracking and apologize! Also there are no install instructions yet but hopefully soon. For the guys without a diff drop you will need to install the 2 supplied spacers on the diff crossmember and will likely need to bend the convenience hook out of the way on the mid skid.
This is there to help hold up the skid when installing and serves no other purpose. If you bend it out of the way you can likely bend it back if the diff drop is installed at a latter date.
This will make sense during installation.
Also the rearward most bolt holes will need to be enlarged for the supplied nut plates to be installed, a step bit works great for this.
For those of you with the bumper tie in plate you will want to install the supplied larger nut plates and 5/16 bolts into the bumper first, then the tie in skid can be skid into place.
Again hopefully I will have some instructions soon.
Thank for everyone's patience!

Awesome! Can't wait to have them installed and used!
