Sorry for the lack of updates!
The 100 series bumper is in production but have been swamped with orders so have not made any progress on the 80 bumpers.
Still in the plans though!
Here are some pics of the final product on the 100.
The 80 would be similar.
I'm now working on the accessory arm.

Didn't know about this thread, have seen it on 100 series pictures and tracked it down and as all things come back to mud eventually here I am.

Would be great if this materialized for my 80 at least.

Also very interested in some @benc love for the 80 series. I think these are the best thought out bumpers being made and I'd love to have some for my new 80.

Ih8mud has so many good teasers that don't get made. I love this bumper and he would sell at least one to me. Huddexpo needs to put out that rear bumper or even lost industries rear bumper but sit here just hoping that dissent makes the one for the 80 also.. there is still room for more models and choices. But i get there are more 100 owners and taco owners for a larger base.

I really like the rear bumper! I would be down for one. I am not in a hurry so your time frame works for me
Just read through the entire thread. A year to production is a perfect timeline for me. Have other projects stacking up in the garage. Will be keeping an eye out for your 80 series rear bumper.
Sub'd, rear only, WOW.
now start saving for f&r hope will be enough when u start make them and love the 100s bumper u make look awesome
I'd be all in with the recessed towing option. I would want corrosion protection for sure with the winters we have here. If you need someone to fit a prototype I would be glad to be a guinea pig!
Love the bumper design, hope it happens. I have a couple of thoughts on your powder coat needs. There are definitely some tight spots to watch out for, those angled areas on the back that end at a point are very tough "Faraday Cage" areas, but it is doable. It's good to see that you are using P&O steel, that will work well with a proper pretreatment wash. One big area of concern is the carbon from the laser cutting or "laser slag", that stuff will coat fine but delaminate and fail very quickly so you may want to consider blasting the assembly first. Lastly, a zinc epoxy powder primer will help very much as well. All these things drive up the cost quickly, I realize, but you have an awesome product there and I wouldn't want poor finishing to wreck your situation. This stuff is probably elementary to you powder coat supplier, but just wanted to make sure. Good luck!
My 80's heavy. Would be interested in knowing weight of final designs. Need to have ladder, high lift, rotopax, and 35 space in final configuration. If lighter I'd sell my current
Definately look sweet I will be in the market for both front and rear bumpers for my 80 that I'm building during this year as I get it put back together.
I may have missed this, but is there an 80 series rear bumper available? I checked your FB page the other night but didn't see anything 80 related.

Thought the revival of this thread meant we’d get this bumper. 😂

Were these ever made?

ALRIGHT GUYS!
I've been in contact with @benc about bringing this bumper to fruition for the 80 series.
It would also be a no cut rear, like the 100.
As an avid mountain biker i've had a hard time finding the right bumper that can get a bike rack up and off the stock hitch and not wanting to cut the rear xmember there are very limited options, especially for this quality and price point.

He's on board, IF we can get 10 guys willing to put $500 down.
Cost should be the same as the 100 series rear.
As well he thinks he has access to an 80 to use for mock up but if anyone is local or close to Colfax, CA and willing to let him use your rig that would go a long way.
I will likely start another thread as well now that this is a real possibility. Hopefully this isn't another situation where everyone is on board til they have to pony up!

So for the base unit it would be 1400USD total. So 500 down and then 900 when he agrees to fill the order if you are going base with no additional options. Am I on the right thinking track?

Please let me know when it starts. One of the issues that have come up with many mudvendors is the not having the product ready when announced and then taking so long that competitive products move people away or peoples financial situations change. I know it is a careful balance as i don't think any of the mudvendors are able to make a good living from it and they have to focus on products that have a demand. Asking first is a good way to gauge but if it takes a long time people move on or give up.

It would be cool if a front bumper was coming too.

I was debating starting a new thread to make people realize this is a real potential. The hard part will be getting 10 people to commit to signing up and putting down the deposit. If you and I both do, thats only 8 more we need! Maybe we can get @benc to make an instagram post asking about interest since that would reach much further than just mud. finding 10 guys shouldnt be THAT hard. If it was an available product i'd have already ordered one.

General plan is for it to be very very similar to the 100 bumper is my understanding.
Ya which looks really cool. But I would want to see how he does it, I only want to have to install a bumper once. Sounds like he may or may not remove the crossmember. Also, not working due to having the Corona virus, I'm not making expensive purchases unless necessary. I was in a better situation when I posted in this thread for the first time.
