I made my own cooler rack to fit my RTIC 65 - I can easily put the Jerry Can holder on it with room for another can

I made a jumper harness to steal power for the license plate light. I hate having more connectors, but I like it better than splicing into wires.

Where did you get the extra connectors from? Did you just buy them from a dealer parts dept? Did they come with the pins/wires and you cut them to length, or did you have to buy the pins separately and crimp the wires & insert into connector housings?

Smart! Great way to save a few dollars. Were they a direct bolt on?

Those Roadvision lights certainly are not inexpensive! It's good to know there are alternatives.
I had to drill an extra hole per light about an 1/8" from the original spot.

I just copied smarter people (@linuxgod, @indycole, @tbisaacs) and did what they did.

For the factory jumper part I had to buy connectors, pins, sealing plugs, wires, and crimp/assemble them.

I got all kinds of specific information on this from @linuxgod.

His parts list is posted here:
and more info here
I got the factory connectors from a dealer (Olathe parts online) and the pins from Ballinger Motorsports website.

I bought the wire from Wirebarn.com. I got a selection of wire in different colors. I used 16 gauge TXL wire, I think Linuxgod used 20 gauge. I borrowed some larger wires for the green and white jumper wires from a Porsche wiring harness I keep around for harvesting wires (they use really good wire...).

I got extra pins in case I messed up, but there are two larger pins (green and white wires) and the rest are smaller pins.

I bought my Deutsch connectors and a proper (albeit low end) crimper for the Deutsch pins from Amazon.

I could have never done this on my own I was completely reliant on those who went before me and were generous with their research and knowledge.

That is AWESOME. I want one. :) I have the same exact cooler.

I used an old bed frame and some 1/8" flat bar from Lowes - pretty simple to weld up

Does any one have an suggestions for what storage box/cooler to get for the Rear Aluminum Accessory Tray swing out?

A few Wishlist items:
- I want something that is preferably a cooler
- I want something that I can lock (it doesn't have to be fort knox)
- I want something low key: I live in a pretty safe place, but when I do roam, I don't want something like a Yeti that just yells "steal me".
- not crazy small, but not hella big either
- bear resistant would be a nice to have
- waterproof

I'm thinking about this case:

Not sure how well it would work as a cooler.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, how are people tying these down? I really just want something that someone would have to work a bit to pull off. I know someone determined with some bolt cutters I'm not going to stop.

Any ideas?
After getting the tray I instantly regretted it. I "thought" the jerry can piece could be added to the tray at a later date but it can not. That's on me. Dissent makes an entirely different product for that option. TBH better off fabricating something you want as that is where I am at and many other have done already. If you want storage this guy did a great job but could also be modified for a cooler.

Is the jerry can holder deeper than the tray? Seems like you could just put the jerry holder on the tray and worse case drill a few holes in the tray so you can bolt the holder to it?

I am not positive about dimensions so can't answer that. I spoke to Cole and he stated that the pieces are not compatible. Figured Dissent missed a nitch there if the tray could be used as both a tray and jerry can holder base then just buy the add ons to complete. If you really stare/compare the tray and jerry can tray on their website it looks like it would work. Would have to check emails but I think he quoted me in the $400-500 range for just the jerry can piece less swing arm.

I purchased just the second arm with receiver hitch - no tray Jerry Can holder and made my own tray to fit an RTIC 65
This was a few years ago for my 100 which I rolled and was able to reuse the swingarms on the 200 bumper.
When I ordered my 200 bumpers I added just the Jerry Can mount to replace the wooden one I made to take gas cans to the boat.

If I was buying today, just get the Jerry Can holder and make your own tray.
I drilled holes in my tray to match the Jerry Can holder but just ratchet strap them down since I'm getting boat gas at least once a week.

See post 761 above for my setup - can take more pics if needed

Awesome stuff. This is why Mud is so amazing.

I ended up ordering an AluBox 60L. I'll see how it goes and report back!

I use a Roam 52L for storage. Could do the same with any cooler. I made a custom tray and a custom steel strap for extra security when I think I need it. The box is plastic so if someone wants in it, bad enough there’s not much that can be done.

Hey guys, does anyone know if dissent makes block off plates for the winch and/or light bar slots? I wanted to block them off for now and eventually run both the light bar and the winch. This is specially for the LC200 low profile bumper.

Suggest you just call or email Ben and ask. Making your own out of aluminum and painting black would be fairly easy.

The tray was widened earlier this year to accommodate a Yeti 45 which was a common ask, so the jerry can basket base does not bolt up directly to the tray without modification.

You can still strap jerry can baskets directly to the tray but if you want a more secure option, the guys at Stellar Built ( @eurosonic ) have used the below jerry can basket bolted to the tray.

Got the box (truck is dusty as hell; (they just started spraying Mag Chloride this week to cut down the Dust up here). Now I need to figure our how to secure this thing. Thinking some toggle clamps. Suggestions welcome!

A few clean picks before the dust, but without the box here: Any recent Dissent rear bumper installations? TIps? - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/any-recent-dissent-rear-bumper-installations-tips.1285066/post-14486939

Toggle clamps seems good. Even small ones are strong.
